She seems to have a lisp or something so that with the childish sounding voice can be distracting.

I also dislike Ju Jingyi's speaking voice as well. I personally dislike their type of voices.

The ML seems to be going through angst due to childhood trauma and teen dilemmas and was initially very unlikeable and verbally abusive.
From what I recall, she's a useless character on the page and nothing more than an obsessive fan girl. The ML was a typical abusive tsundere. Been a while since I looked at the comic, though.
Not much one can do to redeem her unless the scriptwriters improve what she fundamentally is. Ditto the ML.

Plus his violence towards the hooligan behind the destructive noodle shop brawl isn't endearing either (they're as bad as each other). The coach is nothing more than a sexually frustrated bully.

I am seeing some red flags, such as a lack of boundaries and his tetchiness.

Also, the dynamic they have is quite like a parent-child or older sibling-younger sibling one, which isn't my preferred take (didn't like this in the main pair in Love is Science eiter).

I hope he does mature with the noteable passage of time throughout the series, though.

That lack of chemistry was instrumental in my decision to abandon it, tbh.

Romance lives and dies on chemistry and life is too short to plough through one that doesn't for 16 1 hour 10 mins episodes.
