First of all I’m so glad Zhao Jia Min is getting consistent lead roles and starting to pump out like 5 a year…
Well said. I thought I was going crazy for thinking that the ML was wooden and bland, but nope I was seeing it for what it is.
There should be a spark between them, like in Rising Feather but there's nothing there from his side.
Such a shame when the actress is so skilled but she's not got someone oppossite her on the same level to play off of. Like listening to a duet but only one singer can sing 😞
These dramas have such similar clichés that strong chemistry is barest minimum of things to expect but this has me grasping at straws, looking for a secondary couple to ship. What a shame.

It's the name change for me, Hidden charm was soooooo good and so unique and then they decided to change it to…
Weed is illegal in China 😉

I agree with you that the old title was better.

I've despised Tang Yan's acting in every project I've seen of hers but people raved about her in Blossoms Shanghai…
I don't blame you. She also tends to portray a lot of Mary Sue type characters so that puts me off as well.
Imagine possible improvement to acting only once middle age has set in? 😲

Um ok...ML is a bit deranged in the head😅But somehow I can't stop watching 🤦‍♂️
'A bit' deranged in the head is an understatement to say the least!
Guy is giving her love bites and kissing her against her will.
I will agree that this dynamic is strangely addictive, though in the vein of those alpha bad boy meets good girl tropes.

Why do all these China Revolution stories ALL have Haters to Lovers and then many misunderstandings/revenge storyline…

MTE! I said 'Korea's version of Elite' when I saw the trailer.
Anyone know the song used in the trailer, btw?

'Also, I had no idea they had breast implants in ancient Korea.'

🤣Said the same thing about Empire of Lust!

from trailer story looks quite average but visual effects are great ...do not know why this reminds me of LBFAD…
Just seen the trailer and she does seem childish, which isn't what I expected.

she didn't act like she was in jail for 4 years, more like in boarding school.
IKR?! Accurate!
I'm seeing this in The Substitute Princess Love (suffering, more like) and she doesn't behave at all like the backstory they gave her.
Honestly, even fanfic writers do better characterisation 🤦‍♀️
Main times I see stronger FLs is when they're villains, guest stars or leads in a much shorter drama (like less than five minutes per episode).

The way they meet each other is so lame they could have let her stay until he comes home to meet her.I feel tired…
I agree that he could've let her stay! It's getting so dragged with their dynamic out that I'm tired.
It also seems a 180 from how he was when he didn't know she was his bride, she carried his wounded self to safety, treated him with her own pricey medicine originally meant for her and how he was loyally waiting for her to return from fetching water for him.
Least he could do is let her stay.

everyone is talking about dropping, thinking of dropping, or dragging their feet on finishing. how is this rated…
Some people strangely rate a series before they've finished it and also overrate series as well.
I've seen mediocre and worse than that series get eights and nines just because it ended happily.

such a big claim it’s not a fact, it’s only your opinion. majority of the people will disagree.
I never stated it as a fact, btw 😕
Majority of people? About Disney declining? It depends who's asked as there's highly viewed videos bashing them on YouTube.

Yess. Totally unique chineese drama. But be prepared for a lot of sciences and be patients.
'Patients'? There's doctors in this? 😉

Ehh, it was okay. Not a re-watch worthy kind of drama. No chemistry between the leads. Story was very fluffy and…
Absolutely agreed about the lack of chemistry! Only two real kisses as well.
However, the story got more serious as it progressed.
He had the best chemistry with his co-star in Circle of Love, easily.

That platform isn't known for good K-dramas, unfortunately (and Disney themselves have been declining for years).
