I feel like this is the proverbial Alice in the Rabbit Hole. And the dark mist is actually a being which is selecting its believers? A cultish black mist. Hmmm....Let's see how the next two episodes go.
I'm not surprised if this drama aiming for thriller/horror with little parts of comedy on here and there since…
I watched that too. So, the screenwriter has upped the ante. But it was jarring to see blue blood spilling and decapitations then the funny part with him on the horse.
OK. Just watched the first episode. Got to admit I see why it is rated 19. I have the same issue with the young prince just standing there and I felt like those moviegoers who are screaming 'run, you idiot' and instead we see a smorgasbord of death. I have to applaud the gallant maids and eunuch who died just to show how unstoppable they are. At the onset, I already dislike Prince Yang Nyung (haha) and I scratched my head over the comedic (?) sounds and parts (so far with Prince Chung Nyung). I do hope they decide whether they are going for full out horror (like Sweet Home) or are they aiming for comedy (like those old jangshi movies) I need my four episodes to decide whether to continue or drop so here we go!
Not really feeling the chemistry yet but the leads look good together. There is something about the ML which is so puppy like. I can see that he will still need time to mature and realise that you need to let the other person grow alongside you (which there is a smidgen in the 3rd Episode) I am not a big fan of the trope that is the obsessive female lead but hey, it's in quite a few dramas (Watching Mr Queen at the moment too) Not expecting too much from this drama but I think I will appreciate a romance book brought to life in this drama and of course, a happily ever after!
I am glad I did not read the webtoon before watching the drama. Indeed the monsters are actually the reflection of the human's true selves and desires. I agree with Eui Myeong when he said that not all monsters may hurt humans but how about humans hurting the monsters (even if they are not violent). Humans are indeed the scariest (as mentioned by the head militia thug)
S2 is much much needed! I went in not having any idea about the webtoon so I suppose I can't compare. I think this made my viewing experience much more enjoyable. Ep 8 onwards was tough for me. Many tears shed. Hopefully there will be news of S2.
Holy... speechless. I thought Alice in Borderland was mind-blowing (for me) but then Sweet Home upped the ante. Currently on Ep 2 and definitely I can't watch this with the lights off.
Okaaaayyy. What the heck was that ending???? Looks like an opening for S2. When Ep 36 opened, I was like 'WTH' and then boom. The explanations etc. The bromance is strong in this episode. LOL.
OK. There must be a S2. Overall, brutal but it showcases human behaviour - self-sacrifice or every man/woman for themselves. I like how they tried to flesh out the characters so we get to see them or part of their story.
