Seeing the behind the scenes making of the show just makes me feel more protective of it. Clearly the cast and crew, especially Park Ji Hoon, are working hard to try to deliever a good project and people are just criticizing it cause it's not what they wanted or imagined
Just go along with it or don't. Clearly this is just a ridiculous fantasy that's pseudo melodramatic (I say pseudo because even though objectively there's heavy/dark themes, the execution is just ridiculous). We have a king who could EASILY be taken out if people were braver (he couldn't even win a swordfight without intervention). We have the "menacing" Ak Hee who is basically a simp. We have an assassin who doesn't seem like she's murdered anyone. We have a shaman who can magically appear, disappear, and go through walls yet can still be strong armed and/or charmed by Ak Hee & Gyera. Nothing about this drama feels like it's supposed to be taken seriously so why are people missing the point?

Hyun. The way he looked at her, the way he walked, and the way he called her Consort Hyo.
I think both may refer to her as that but I think when Ak Hee was talking to Hyun, he referred to her as Gyera while Hyun referred to her as Consort Hyo.
I could totally be wrong haha
But I definitely stand by the eyes reason. Hyun and Ak Hee somehow have different eyes. Hyun tends to look resigned & reserved while Ak Hee's has amusement and mischief.
I'm enjoying this so far. It's just dumb fun and moves so fast that it leaves me wanting more.
I think Ak Hee seems to be more objectively appealing because he's the more charismatic and has the comedic moments vs Hyun who is more stern and reserved, only brightening when he's making his clothes. Plus he's the one weighed down with trauma, expectations, judgements, and constant threat from people trying harm him in one way or another.
I like how one of the things that differenciate Ak Hee and Hyun is one runs hot while the other runs cold.
