Indeed. YangZi, TanJianci and ZhangWanyi depicted and portrayed respective characters and their emotions wonderfully, impactful to the core.

Notably, YangZi and TanJianci performances are remarkably wonderful. Contrast between, Zhang wanyi & Deng wei performances are that TSJ looks more as XY's brother than lover, while ZWY effortlessly made, CX her lover & brother. Its TSJ incompetency to solve his affairs that made XY looks more like a mistress than lover. Well, acting does makes a difference. Even HongYi is more expressive than him.

Actually (_Spoiler_) Jing took promise from Xiao Yao to wait for him and don't love other man for 15 yrs. She did wait (but Jing kept invading her to reminds her of 15 yrs. promise) still he fails to break his engagement and married FFYY, even accepted her child as his successor. Jing is somewhat 'Surface green flag' as even being grown up wealthy man, he fails to solve his family and romantic problems. FL & Jing got together cause of XL help and sacrifices. FL left that place cause of Jing's betrayal and 2nd cause CX was involved in XL (her soulmate) death. Drama/Novel end with FL with a 'Companion'.

Yupp! I can understand why Tong Hua only choosen him for XL. Tan Jianci acting and every expressions are amazing. Even in shortest time, he wonderfully proved XL character worth. His portrayal brought complex, selfless & beautiful character Xiang Liu straight out of book alive.

I think, its just a marketing strategy to promote Deng wei and his character Jing cause out of all main leads, DW/Jing comparably lacks to gain same attention as other professional and mature leads. His single expression, voiceless acting fails to be equally effective as other. Even, Wang hongyi performance is more active and vibrant than him.

Yes, right. The way Tan jianci said is so beautiful. He portrayed and conveyed XL emotions impressively. I can understand why TongHua choosen him for xiang liu. Btw, here, some fun facts, Yang Zi, Zhang Wanyi and Tan Jianci are the only lead artists, who use their own voice. Yangzi & Jianci sang Xiao Yao & Xiang liu OSTs themselves.
