To bound, XY in vain promise, shows Jing doubting her character. He seems fine, doing whatever his family ask him to do. I didn't see, Jing strongly opposing his family. Should we accept someone on excuse, its his parents faults. Didn't he supposed to be grownup? Jing or Ysq, its still him, so changing name & clothes, doesn't washed his failures. Well, director & production knew, what they expect when they cast Yang Zi, Tan jianci and Zhangwanyi. They able to beautifully conveys & depicts dilemma, every emotions, expressions their respective characters signifies throughout whole story. Some lucky people already seen episodes upto 5th episodes, on special-screening. Let's try to be patient (which feels impossible) for 3 more days.

Actually YangYang was offered CX or Tsj. roles. He is famous actor so, for fans preference maybe he rejected 1st lead cause its antagonist while, Tsj lacks momentum compared to others. Production never offered him, 3rd ml role ever. There may be a chance of YangZi and YangYang working together possible in future.
Love should make you strong, not weak. *Spoiler* In Maze Arch, Jing knew how to enter & exit maze but committed suicide on the spot and performed Sleeping beauty for 37 yrs. What's use of XY empty body? Imo, Jing is good 'surface' character, capably manipulative like his family, as XY's father hinted, which she didn't take seriously and faced worst mental abuse, vomited blood when he married someone else. Jing is grownup man, lacks strong will and fails to standup for his woman. He got her as a candy on sacrifices of other lead.
In novel, TongHua often describes XiaoYao being calm near sea, that feeling infact, became stronger, after she met Xiangliu. Remember how he said, "Sea beneath your feet." XiangLiu's love for her is vast as ocean.
If there's any possibility, then I hope author can bring him back. This time without any shackles of fate.
