1. Director Yu said, YM was working on official behalf. It wasn't scam. Passes are real. If it was fake then no one can get entry. YM is carefree guy, often works as consultant for them. Director Yu cares for him as his son and wants to recruit on team but YM won't cause conflicts of his parents death. He was forced to join it later, after she made trouble and wrongly prisoned him for her crime.
2. What? YM working for Director Yu is wrong but A-Su stealing is good? Absolutely Not. There's other refugees, should they do same as her to enter city? No.
3. Atleast YM helped her disguise. If she wants to kill someone, it should be WK. lol. He made her pass as maid, not YM.
Working on behalf of Director Yu, YM has right to detain her. No matter what, YM is still better than her. She isn't entitled to bully or follow him but she still did. YM & Sifang team gave her place as family but she is still hiding identity. She's plot device in story, connected YM's parents death. Main story is about him and mystery, cases he solves.

2. A-Su stole Kudel pass and entered city wrongly, which he noticed and caught her, took Kudel pass back.
3. YM didn't register her as maid. WK made her pass. She hide her identity. YM help her disguise. He said that for official registration, her birth, parents, etc. names are neccessary which she hides. Its not YM fault if WK misunderstood her as his maid. Her pass was made rightly after she disclosed she's from Yanle.
4 & 5. Well, she's not innocent. She wrongly entered city, by stealing someone else pass. She made more trouble, spent much more his money. YM got scolded, was even wrongly prisoned.
6. Again, YM didn't registered her as maid, it was WK. No one is entitled to invade others home. Btw, she's still hiding her identity. YM told what happened to his parents, A-Su realised YM parents died saving her.

Yes he took her money and wasted it but since then she has spent far more of his money in return. Also, he didn’t drag her into a case, she followed him on her own because she didn’t trust him, he literally didn’t make her do anything.

Ik, she bullied her way into his home, made too much trouble for him. She's annoying. YM was bullied but genuinely fell in love with her. Where people's common sense? ignoring fact, YM was drunk when he confessed. They misunderstood him.
I'm still not over, (Epi-6) how A-Su send him to prison for her mistake. She bullied him but Yuan Mo gave her place to stay (which she invaded first) then registration and identity. He is so caring & cute. I hope drama doesn't have troupe of ML being hurt by FL naivety on excuse of saving from villain. I had seen enough of it. I'm glad that romance is sub-plot in drama. 😌
Its kind of both exciting & relaxing to watch at same time. Comedy, mystery and detective segments are too good. Tan jianci is an amazing and versatile artist. His acting & each micro expressions are beautifully impressive. Well done.
This is one of those dramas, that somewhat shatters illusions and hypocrisy we were led to believe from childhood by watching some rom-com movies, that its all good in end, if prince & princess got together. Life is much more than that. XY has psychological issues, in consequences, (Spoiler) got bittersweet, compromising ending with a flawed man. Well, atleast she have Xiangliu's blood flowing together in her veins, so she can venture calmly, breath under sea and listen to merfolk songs, which she loves to listen with him. Due to unnecessary trimming, cutting, changes to tone down impact of XY, XL & CX, season 2 adaptation lost huge potential and proven to be a let down. It could have been better.
Question for the people that read the novel… Was TSJ character in the book more interesting?! Like was it CLEAR…
No. He isn't. Even in novel, Jing is same. If you want, you can read its novel. Same as novel, he lacks & is comparatively less impactful. Production opting new actor instead of professional for his role is an answer itself. Jing neither had burdens of an Emperor, nor of a General, but being rich man, still fails to rule his family responsibly. Its hinted from first scene of Jing as beggar, while Xiaoyao, CangXuan and Xiangliu are strong, hardworking characters. Jing got XY on sacrifices of other lead. Its disappointing. In end, XY as working woman had to support his needy self.

Yeah, tbh, Jing in reality, is somewhat a prime example of rich men solving everything with money, while pitifully clings and burdens women on name of love. Same as novel, TushanJing comparatively remains the least active, impactful character. He's an ok 'Surface' character. No wonder they opted for new actor instead of professional for this role.😌
To be fair, not only XY & XL but even FFYY saved Jing life, *Spoiler* by stopping family dispute by killing his brother with herself. Just as novel, his problems are solved by others. Throughout story, neither having burden of an Emperor, nor of a General, Jing being grownup rich man, still mopes around pitifully, fails to be responsible man. Btw, their wedding seems somewhat cringy. Dw expression makes its like Jing happy to get his favorite toy. Guess, acting does makes a difference. Zi looks much better in previous wedding scene. Infact, she has same style in 'Flourished Peony', look beautiful in its bts reuters.
As author said, you can't get everything you want. Well, story female lead, XY is one of those. In the end, she gets a bittersweet (as her mother and soulmate XL dies) and compromising end with a flawed companion. All she have is her own strength to rely upon, to go on in life with yearning of the lost love.
