This particular show isn't that evil coded, that is why the casually presented gang rape feels so out of place here. There are levels to ruthless and evil and this show and that scene do not jive together.

This male lead CC in this show, might be ruthless, but he is not that evil coded, not even to the level of Vegas from KinnPorche. That is why the casual rape order is so jarring and generally a stupid choice by the production team.

People have talked about it. It was not smart to put that scene in the show. Some people cannot tolerate a critical discussion on this subject. They think if you like something, you have to excuse the bad parts and even defend them. That is an unhealthy way to look at the world and will lead to trouble. I like the show and I will watch it, but that part was especially tone deaf.

She sees that she is not the person her boyfriend is interested in and that she doesn't actually want to force that connection with him, it isn't in anyone's best interest, denial of homosexuality makes all involved miserable, the straight people as well as the gay.

The 1st episode is not a very good representative of the series overall. It was kinda dark in tone and felt a bit disjointed. I know the story, it's also absurd and cute and weird, so I wasn't entirely discouraged by the 1st episode. It's been worth watching, I'm on episode 8 now.
