Any thoughts on what's going through Thoop's head?
Like, come on dude, you just asked the guy for around $300, at least don't act like you're pissed. You might not want to borrow money, but you have to. No one has to give you any money, so act like a decent being. And also, what's the point of begging for money, then coming and being all "drop the act, I know you don't care about me!"
I say he needs therapy, and this isn't to be mean, but he seems to think the whole world is against him (and they're obviously not), so he needs to be able to talk instead of lashing out.

I soo agree. Most of the time, I can't be bothered to obsess over details and if you do you get the old "why don't you just drop it?" or "stop hating". Details really do elevate a series.

I agree with everything you're saying, and I live here so I know how it works. I didn't go into too much detail in my previous comment, but basically, what I was saying is that I couldn't think of any job that he could work (him being 18, poor, an immigrant, and can't speak good english), he can't drive nor would he be able to afford a car, petrol, car insurance, etc. I doubt he would be hired as a waiter in places where customers are giving high tips on account of his language skills too. I was thinking he might be a nanny or a cleaner, as my family has had both who don't speak good English, but he's too young to be the former.
So yeah, $50 is a common tip depending on certain factors, but will HE be able to have a job as a teenage immigrant that every customer is giving him 50 in tips? I don't think so, especially not at first.
He would also have to pay for transport, food, housing, clothing, you name it. He'd be no better off here than Thailand. In fact it might be worse, because at least in Thailand he'd be surrounded by familiar customs, language and family.
And please, I love nothing more than a rant I completely agree with.
I couldn't get through Ep 3. If it were so bad that it was good, I could do it. I got through Unforgotten Night…
I might try the first ep and see if I like it. People are saying "oh it's a mystery show it's supposed to be puzzling", but it's also supposed to be interesting. If it's episode 4 and people still don't have a single clue what's going on, then it's just not for me. You need to reveal details in a timely manner, or you loose the audience(at least that's how I feel).
Maybe it's a mistranslation, but Li Ming said that people in the US give like 1000-2000 baht tips each, and I'm just wondering, where on earth would he work here to get $30-$50 tips?! Because he'd be a young poor immigrant, I'm sure he'd be on the lower rungs of the workforce. In the jobs I'm thinking he'll be able to do, the average person isn't giving $50+ in tips each. He's not wrong about generous tipping, but what jobs will he be able to take?
But it's not right? Kinda tired of gender swap historic dramas.
It isn't a BL, because it's not portrayed as a man falling in love with a man, I think it's portrayed as a woman with a man's soul falling in love with a man. But it's also portrayed in a way that if you wanted to see it as a borderline BL (though it's not), you could.
