People are saying they are disappointed only because it has a somber air and hence takes more patience to settle…
Agreed. I think another reason people feel differently about this adaptation is because while Semantic Error took some creative liberties, it still mostly closely followed the source material, especially the manhwa, but this show seems more like they took the characters from the manhwa and then created something that's almost entirely different from the original story iirc.
It's been a while since I've read Cherry Blossoms, but I don't remember the camping scene, Hae Bom working at a flower shop, or their friends knowing they lived together so soon. I also don't think they told their friends that they liked each other until they were already dating and and in college. cmiiw.
I personally love this show, but I can understand why some people who expected it to follow the manhwa could be disappointed by it.
I'm sad it's over, but I'm glad they didn't drag it out unnecessarily. They really paced this show so well. No moment or scene felt wasted or like filler to me. Usually I'm skipping through so much, but everything mattered in this, and if it didn't, they cut it out. Jaechan and Seoham definitely deserve praise, and so too does everyone involved in creating this masterpiece from the other actors, to the director and scriptwriter(s), to the lighting team and other staff and the editor(s). Everyone did their part to make this show so special and I'm really appreciative. I hope they're all really proud of themselves and what they've created.
Perfect 10/10 from me. Even though it's short and doesn't really follow the plot of novel/manhwa, but the chemistry,…
Agreed, and I really like the changes they made from the manhwa. I think if they'd followed it too closely, it would have stifled them creatively. I especially love what they did with Ryu Ji Hye's character.
Was the cute customer with blonde hair in ep 5 a member of Dongkiz also when they made cameos?
The male customer with brunette hair and the person who played their waiter are DONGKIZ members. The customer is the maknae of the group Jonghyeong, and the waiter is Kyoungyoon.
This episode was so intense; there was barely a moment to take and breath, and the moment there was, something else happened. I'm loving this show so much. My only complaint is I hate that I have to wait a week for new episodes. If I'd known that this show was going to be this good, I would have waited until it finished airing so that I could binge watch it. I'm mad the trailers gave me such low expectations. The waiting is tortuous.
This episode OH MY GOD. DomeVee, SaeAii, ThornFah, I love all of the couples. This is like My Engineer to me in that it has multiple couples that each have decent screen time, and there are things I love about all of them. This show is one of favorite BLs ever right now. i hope the don't screw it up in the last half. Fingers crossed.
I love Theo and Akk's relationship. They are shaping up to be one of my favorite BL couples ever. So far, this show is doing a great job of showcasing their chemistry and close friendship.
Damn I’ve been wanting to start this for the longest time but what are all the comments about hating maze? Should…
Maze is crap, but this show does have some pretty amazing side characters, and some episodes are actually pretty good. The first two-ish episodes are the worst ones imo, and I almost dropped the show because of them, but it gets better from there aside from Maze who has yet to show any real growth. He just keeps going back and forth in the growth department. One step forward and two back, over and over again. I recommend waiting to see how people react to the upcoming episode to decide whether to watch it or not, because I feel like we're at a crossroads in the show right now where they're either going to explain and correct Maze's trash behavior in a way that makes this show worthwhile and rehabilitates his character in our mind, or they're going to screw it all up and offer no explanation, correction, or justification for his character and we're all going to come here and complain about it and say don't watch it. They've really set this up where only those two extremes are possible right now because they've made Maze just so unlikeable that they need to do some serious course-correction to make him fly high somehow because anything less than that will be unacceptable and incapable of undoing how he has behaved throughout the show. I've had characters I've hated to the core turn around and become my fave before, but that takes stellar writing that I'm not sure this show can pull off, but we'll see. It's not entirely impossible, because this show does have some pretty good episodes/moments.
This show is amazing. Inukai Atsuhiro is such an amazing actor. this role is completely different from his role as Mob, yet he kills them both. the chemistry between the two leads in this show is so good.
