No, they were not related. Chang'an is an imperial city for chinese Tang dinasty, so the name sometimes uses for title of many dramas that depicts in this particular period.

Yes, i think they cut that rooftop scene. I think it is the scene when Qi Yan and Yu'er went out of the palace together, and Qi Yan secretly bought the hairpin for Yu'er but he never get a chance to give it to her, and ended up using it for other things in the prison 😅😅
