I think the start of the conflict between Cheng Xu and Qi Yuan comes from the feeling of betrayal because Cheng Xu didn't quickly save him when he is abducted, and worst part is he learned it from Qi Han who instigate him. He never gave Cheng Xu opportunity to explain, and they grew apart from there. And i think Ming Yu didn't really helping much either. And when he knows about the history between his mother and Cheng Xu, it is only become one more reason for him to distrust Cheng Xu, so i think it is not really the main issue. And Ming Yu quickly explain herself to Qi Yuan and distance herself from Cheng Xu after that.

I think the difference between the novel and the drama, in the way Fu Yun Shen perceived his work/profession, sort of related to Fu Yun Shen's characterization on each format. In the novel, he didn't like to be a part of his family business, he think of it as an obligation, and actually like craftmenship. While in the drama, he considered his profession quite noble because it can save life. And Fu Yun Shen in the drama is the favorite son of the family, so i think he has more freedom in choosing his profession, so when he choose it, it should come from his own aspiration. And i like that his profession kinda related to Zhu Jiu's profession, because he could have more bonding moments with her and understand her more.
