I really enjoyed the first episode with Gong Yoo, and appreciated the new games, but the pacing was off. All the vote counting does not make for great TV. The first season had amazing pacing.
Highly recommend this well acted drama about two close “brothers” trying to survive without legal status in Malaysia. Both main actors give heartfelt performances. But I was most impressed with Chris Wu as Abang. His devastatingly sad and vulnerable monologue in prison left me in tears.
I think the actors were game but the writing in this show was terrible, Too bad the lead actress didn't smile more, she's quite lovely when she smiles. All that stone face coldness did nothing for her character. Overall meh, I was hoping for some Gory style revenge.
The series gradually improves as you watch. I just finished the Left Hander episodes and it moved me to tears at the end. Is it just me or do the 2 male leads get progressively more attractive?
I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, so well acted and quite moving in the end. However it took some serious concentration and re-watching parts to keep on track with the mystery. Glad it was kept to 12 episodes. I hope the rating goes up after more people finish the series, deserves higher score in my opinion.
The 3 couples really complement each other well, and each one has plenty of chemistry. A nice surprise for a quality BL series that improves from the first one.
Kudos to the show creators hinting at the BL relationship with posters in the boys' apartment. Gay artist David Hockney's poster in the living room, and film posters of gays films Blue and Philadelphia in Wubi's room.
I’m up to ep 2 and I’m finding it hard to believe anyone would find Kawee attractive. Hes so painfully awkward and ridiculously immature. I don’t know if it’s the actor portrayal or the writing.
A great mix of supernatural, drama, mystery and comedy. Hard to accomplish but the writing and acting was very well done. My only minor complaint is that the twist at the end sort of came out of nowhere. This show also hits hard on those of us who have lost a parent. Hope to see a season 2, and I expect we will based on the glowing reception.
I'm glad in the preview of future episodes we see Luo Fei smile and laugh because I feel like giving up on this series after ep 3. He has no personality to speak of.
Philadelphia in Wubi's room.
