On To Sir, with Love Mar 27, 2023
They wrote Tian like a damsel in distress character, always crying and in need of rescue. I wished he wasn’t so weak physically, even the maids could fight better. I did enjoy the brotherly bonding scenes. Yang’s devotion to his brother was my favorite part of the series.

I enjoyed the series overall and the tragically sad character of Shulin was very impressive. Wang Duo is definitely on my actor radar now. However, I did miss the comedy of the first half of the series. I would have been happy to see the 2 leads solve more mysteries together. The final episode's outgoing song made me want to watch the whole series again.

It’s interesting we get no family backstory with Makio. It would make his odd relationship decision more understandable.

A nice companion film to Shoplifters. The director is a master at shining the light on the people who live on the fringes of Japanese society.

This drama is undeniably well acted and really draws you into the characters and story. But, I had to wonder "where are the responsible adults?" Almost every adult in this series was seen as incompetent, neglectful or corrupt. Just one capable adult person could have made a huge difference in the lives of these teenagers.

This dark and definitely tragic series leaves a somewhat empty feeling for me. I just couldn't buy the JJS character twist in the end.

I was generally satisfied with the ending, they were able to wrap things up better than I expected. I also appreciated the hopeful tone left between the brothers.

I wonder if the show’s focus on the pandemic is turning off some viewers? The draconian lockdowns in China are certainly not portrayed accurately. Too bad since the family drama is really the heart of the show.

Is Sung Hoon supposed to be on the autism spectrum? Or is the actor just playing him that way. Seems like the popular Korean disability du jour. Addictive show so far!

Ended up feeling kind of meh. It had all the ingredients of MRIAD but none of the charm. Also desperately lacked humor.

Congratulations on Emmy first! Best Drama series nomination for non English series. Well deserved and has a good chance of winning.

I was a bit hesitant to start this film but it captured my attention with it's full scaled profile of a moneyboy "male prostitute". It was well acted by the entire cast and beautifully shot. I liked that it didn't shy away from the darker aspects of the life, the degradation in front of police and the shame in confronting your relatives, even though they do care about you. The main relationship that drew me in was between Fei and Long. It was Long who really seemed to break through Fei's barriers, with sheer determination and open heartedness. I loved his character. The film is almost 2 hours but it didn't feel too bloated. Highly recommended!

Hmmm.. Tol is such a jerk in ep 7. Starting to hope Tin and Rit get together (but doubt it).

This show deserves some props for showing realistic medical details of an emergency room. Didn't expect that at all.

The writers have written Prakan into such an unbelievably naive character around death. He's supposed to be a well respected and talented surgeon? He acts worse than a first year medical student who has never seen death before.
