Shampooing your buddy’s hair can be very erotic! Very promising start, good acting and chemistry between the boys. Wish it was a full series, the episodes are too short.
I just finished the series, dropped the score from 8.5 to 8. I agree with others that the chemistry between the leads seemed off in the last few episodes. The late added drama with the ex-gf was fairly lame. I also cringed a bit with the montage of greatest couple moments, as if we needed to remind the audience that they were a good couple. I would have liked more time with the 2 side couples, esp Man and Type. I thought the show’s MVP was really Win. He brought and infectiously likable character and showed he could handle some of the more dramatic parts as well. I hope he tries another BL role.
This story reminded me of MingKit in 2 Moons 2, but far less successful in execution. The acting wasn't as good and the couple lacked chemistry. The pairing of Mark and Vee was much better in Love Mechanics.
Fairly enjoyable but would have been even better with more bromance, less romance. The main couple bickering was cute in the beginning but quickly became tedious for me.
Late to the game, but wow. Episode 9 focusing on just MingKit was perfection. Kudos to the writers and actors for such a wonderfully written and acted piece, especially the last 15 minute intimate conversation.
They changed the storyline/characters. As far as I remember in KMA Pete was unsure about being gay and afraid…
I don't know if Kao is a totally different character, but more that the writers are exploring other facets of their relationship and perhaps even the coming out experience. Why is Kao still so deep in the closet? He's smart, well liked and has a supportive family. I find it interesting.
Initially I thought Kao was the stronger and more stable character (over Pete) but the show seems to be going into a different angle, and it could be very interesting. Pete, who has always been immature and lacked introspection, grew tremendously from having Kao and his father's complete acceptance. Kao, we see, is actually struggling more with self homophobia, because he has never been able to open up to his family. I actually think this is a pretty complex storyline and is more interesting than the vanilla jealousy over new guy trope.
Still, I'm more invested this season in Mork and Sun.
It's still early but I'm enjoying both main couples so far. Pete and Kao have great chemistry and I was moved by the little gesture of holding Pete's hand at the uncomfortable lunch with parents. Kao really needs to come out already. His mother is clearly supportive.
Just watched first episode and it seems quite uneven. I'm having a hard time believing Yu Xi Gu is at all attractive with almost no personality and looking ill most of the time. So far the only evidence we have is one of the female characters has a huge crush on him. Not a great introduction to his character.
I thought I recognized Jun Woo's best friend as the actor in Sky Castle. Wished he had a bigger role. This series is surprisingly watchable despite the predictable TV tropes so far.
As a gay man, I enjoy certain BL shows but understand most of it is rather broadly written, lacking in nuance and character development. I really appreciate the few that have transcended the rest like SOS and HIStory Boundary Crossing. The comment that it is written for straight woman rings true as few of my gay friends have even heard of BL.
I liked the film and it built the suspense quite well, but I do feel it's been over praised. The ending left me more puzzled than satisfied. I'm usually pretty tolerant of slow pacing, especially if I care about the characters, but this film could to with some editing.
Initially read the synopsis and couldn’t understand why the series is so addictive. Now I do, after binging the first 8 episodes. Coach Kim really reminded me of one the those Robert Palmer video girls! Also, did others wonder why Korean hospitals seem to have no security guards?
