I quite enjoyed the series and found it similar in character dynamics to My Roommate is a Detective. It was also one of the few series that I can remember which really delivered a compelling ending, and I hope a S2! Thanks for the article.
This list is missing Hikaru No Go. Loved Bad Kids, their friendship really grounded the extreme negativity in the series and made it bearable. I will have to give Crossfire another try.
My personal favorites: Bad Kids, Hikaru No Go, Ancient Detective, Murderous Affair, My Roommate is a Detective, Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, Someday or One Day, Love in Between
I'm enjoying it so far though it's full of tropes. Glad to see such high quality BL shows coming from Taiwan. Shu Yi seems to be very high maintenance, it's a wonder people are so drawn to his character.
I hope more people find this show. I'm up to ep 27. One of the few shows that gets better and better and doesn't seem to drop off in the middle so far. Great writing and the casting is just perfect. Even relatively minor characters bring something special to the role. I wish we had more time with his HS friends and mom.
Not being a young thing anymore, I didn't think a coming out scene could affect me as much. Well kudos to JC Alcantara, Mico's coming out scene to his close friends had me in happy tears. I felt that sense of relief all over again!
It started out strong but got a bit draggy during the middle focusing on people we really don’t need to follow. The ending was also a bit underwhelming. It could have been stronger with less over the top dramatics and more well rounded characters. Did all the adults have to be either corrupt or simple minded? Still worth a watch.
I want to like it more, the main actors are good enough. Most of the comedy doesn't hit for me. It could be the translation is off, but I think it's the cultural references I'm not understanding.
This was probably the best possible ending for the couple introduced in the prequel. That movie ended ambiguously. It's as much a love story as about being true to yourself, dealing with self homophobia and low self esteem. I also liked that it didn't fall into the trope of the evil spurned wife. Glad this got a nice ending.
