Thats interesting because i dropped NIF on ep 3 several times until i watched it till ep 11 and i was hooked after all . In my opinion NIF is the best tv series to be ever made but comparison is inevitable because its literally the same plot haha it is what it is .

Yes people are really comparing the both MCs pointing out the mistakes he made on the first day arriving at the capital . Zhan hai is just 20 years old even his masters said he's not ready yet meanwhile mei changsu was already leader of the Jiangzuo Alliance when he was introduced .. he was already a major figure in the world .
I think this makes it very interesting .. we are seeing the MC literally climbing from the bottom.

definitely gives count of monte cristo vibes but way bigger scale.

Its similar due to the plot .. its almost the same plot .. i don't think its on the same level as nirvana in fire yet but episode 7 was so damn good it was definitely on NIF level. NIF was also a bit slow in the beginning so keep watching i guess

Bro got rid of all two of marquis's closest men .. gained Marquis's trust as well as getting famous af .
Like how many targets he hit with one arrow 👏👏.

i read the synopsis and it looks interesting also very highly rated. I want to ask how is the romance in this drama like is it the main focus or a subplot ? I don't like when historical dramas have romance as the main focus and like the whole world revolves around them. This is why i like joy of life because yes there was romance but there were other stuff happening in the world. The story wasn't entirely reliant on romance to movie it forward.

Thanks for the heads up .. gonna skip his honestly was looking for a more politics focused drama...

I have high expectations with this one .. i want hardcore politics really bad want something grand like nirvana in fire or joy of life .. i know its hard to surpass those shows but i really need another masterpiece.
