You mean he did recognize them, but he was mad that she called him just "a friend"? I suppose so, but he was mad before that when he pinned her down and started shouting at her, no? I just felt like the scene was more confusing/misleading than helpful. It wasn't needed.

It seems like a decent amount of people know now (Gongsun knows, his uncle is about to find out (cause his righthand man just found out), YuanQing knows, and Xie Zheng's own men know.... 😅 a growing list!).

True, but when I pair it with him persisting in keeping his identity from her, I get more frustrated by it, haha. Please, Drama, make it make sense!

Also, why was he mad at her in that scene when he saved her in the mask? Didn't he recognize the leather arm guards he made her and that it was these things she fell off the cliff for? 🤔

You mean to keep her safe? Wouldn't she be safer with him (as his true, powerful and influential self) at this point, though? He already knows YuanQing's after her so leaving her on her own doesn't seem to be a great way of securing her safety.

We didn't need her to almost fall, or for him to save her. He already did that, and the way she woke up and ran off left a perfect opportunity/reason for them to separate until reunited with him as Marquis. But that random little scene felt completely pointless. And he just said, "Forget it, at least she's alive"? 🤔 Huh?

But she's going to find out eventually (if he wants to marry her for real, which it seems he does). Why delay the inevitable? I don't know, I'm just not understanding the logic behind it in the story from his character's perspective.

It feels more like a ploy to have a big reveal in a way fans will like, but we've got to have a reason for the character to do it or it feels like an unnecessary point of angst.

I still don't understand why Xie Zheng is not telling Changyu who he is. 😭 Why is he going to so much trouble to hide his identity from her?

Is he in the cast list? He's not, right? I haven't been able to find it.

I laughed at this part. Falscons do not smell things and track them down. They track prey through sight. We need an Avatar The Last Airbender creature that melds two species to make this a possibility: the Falconhound or The Gyrhound or something. But this ability of our puppet gyrfalcon was utterly made up. 😅

Sui YuanQing makes a comment along these lines to Changyu as she stands on the cliff, "I am better than Marquis Wuhan. Come to keep instead." Does this mean by that point she knows Xie Zheng's real identity?

Why doesn't Xie Zheng tell Changyu who he is once they get closer and before he leaves?
