Have we been given a reason why Xie Zheng has not returned to his army yet? It seems like things are pretty dire. What exactly is he waiting for again (besides not wanting to leave Changyu, of course)? If it was said I missed it.
In the novel i hated him. Seriously why did they made him so pretty!!! He is former Crown prince's son. and he's…
And I'm all for redemption arcs, to be clear. I'm a sucker for them. But guys who do to women what novel readers have said he does to Qian Qian shouldn't get to be with women even once they get redeemed. They just need to learn to be decent humans and stick to doing that consistently and well. π I'm all for reconciliation and healing for those who are ready to change, but it doesn't mean they can necessarily get back what they lost through their wickedness.
"You must respect my opinion. (But I don't have to respect yours!)" ππ€π Yep. That sounds like…
That's another way! I prefer to give kindness a chance to win them over (because I actually LOVE dialoguing with people who are open to discussion and seeing things from another person's point of view, even if we disagree). I resort to blocking the people I find insufferable and completely consistent (and frequent) in their negativity and inability to be kind and respectful. I can handle the random rude or insulting comment here and there but some people don't know how to move on and let a thing go. It's only been a few people so far. π
When their favs are not in a popular show, it must be rigged LOL. I find it so funny when people who clearly don't…
I feel like one perspective that alleviates this problem is admitting that what you like about a drama may not be what others like about it. Once you can pinpoint what people like/why they like it (even if you don't agree or like it for those reasons), then you can admit that, and move on/forward. You don't have to belittle others' reasons, it's enough to own that they are not yours and you don't agree.
Things don't get popular for no reason. We may not align with the reason other people have for liking something we don't (or we might like something others don't, and that's okay. It might also be that we get upset by people's dislike because it makes our taste feel belittled or inferior), but a reason nonetheless exists, even if it's not the best reason in everyone's mind. π
Over the years being on MDL I have realized, slowly, that there are a lot of different reasons people like dramas, and a lot of different reasons why people watch them. Ratings and reviews and comment threads can give a sense for what the majority in our community thinks, but they won't represent everyone and that's okay. It doesn't make you a less valuable contributor to this community if your taste does not align with the majority. As long as we can foster kindness and dialogue we don't have to let it become a point of contention and vitriol and animosity that we see things differently.
Wow. Ratings.. Ok here's ma questions because wanna add to ma list 1. Apart from popular and eye candy leads,…
I agree with @CrystalBai. On your first question, there has not been too much plot development (I've watched through 11), and some are taking issue with the lack of plot (and I am seeing more thirst comments than I'd like in here, for sure π , which makes me wonder if many are just in it for the visuals (which is fine, but not what I'd stick around for or what would make me keep watching)), but I haven't found it boring or unpleasant. If they don't rush the ending because of it I think it could be a very nice foundation for our leads' struggles/angst that will try to keep them apart later on. But it might force a rushed ending. π€·ββοΈ We don't know yet.
As for your second question, their chemistry is great, and while there is a lot of focus on how pretty everything and everyone is, I do think they're building affection between the leads nicely. There were a few episodes that kind of repeated some scenarios and did a slight variation on them which might feel a bit repetitive, but so far it hasn't bothered me personally. It feels like it could be groundwork laid, not time wasted. But again, we'll see!
I think romance is the largest draw and focus of the drama, but there are other people to care about and plot points bubbling more and more to the surface.
I'd say if you're worried, wait a bit longer to see how the episodes unfold and check here again in a week or two. βΊοΈ
I see some comments about the drama being boring because nothing is happening...Because they're staying true to…
Yeah, I guess will see if it serves a strong foundation for future angst for our leads, or if it will result in a rushed ending. Time will tell, I guess!
And the Prince Chengxin who's rebelling at Chingzhou is another prince rebelling, right? Are they all brothers of the emperor (if soz I'm wondering how he managed, since he doesn't seem to be the brightest tool in the shed)? Sorry, I keep asking you questions. π
What are ppl expecting? Marriage and babies at episode 10 out of 40? π€¦π»ββοΈ
@PeachBlossomGoddess below called it "boring in a mesmerizing kind of way" with no plot up to Episode 6. π The only one brave enough to do anything but gush. She's not wrong, but I also don't mind. It doesn't feel plotless or boring to me, but in the grand scheme of things not much has really happened yet.

Yep. That sounds like the internet!
