The latter part took me by surprise as well, just as I got used to take things on the chin it became a bit thoughtful, great show ! May it continue with part two. I'll definitely rewatch it for laughs when I'll need some cheering up.
There has to be after the last scene - lol ! I read it as open-ended, I hope they started filming straight away. Thank you for highlighting the sitcom genre, it's not a drama.
hmmm Boys Over Flowers hasn't aged well at ALL, in my opinion. I wonder how people are able to watch that show…
I watched Meteor Garden completely unaware of it being the Chinese take on BOF but then, on reading reviews I became curious to see the differences and watched BOF. I didn't take it seriously but then, the more I was watching, the more I was involved in everything the drama worked on. It's quite long but I promised myself to rewatch it, I would definitely recommend it. The only impediment is the fact that many new dramas seem very interesting at the moment, it's easy to pass on something so old.
I lost count the number of times you used the classification for this one as a 'drama' which it is not, Netflix introduces it as 'the first original Netflix sit-com'. Being a sitcom, you need to refer it to it as such and review it accordingly. As for the rest, I agree, it's over the top comedy with not very experienced actors but it moves very fast and keeps the viewer entertained, therefore it's not something I would take so seriously in terms of expectations.
I couldn't agree more ! It could have been a great story but the depiction of God, angels and demons seems to have been done by a rebellious anti-christian writer. I know, it's drama land where everything is possible but the first rule still has to be obeyed : being credible. I'm about to finish it but I can't believe any of it. I still don't understand the point of the demon family and their motivation, they could all be friends and sort out problems amicably. As for the angels, no, they don't live among us as humans, they don't need to, and when can they intervene and when can they not ? If his mission was love, why not keep it as romantic drama without the murderous plot ? That spoiled it for me, apart from many other aberrations.
I only watched it because of the OST - Temptation - which is amazing. Needless to say, it didn't even feature that much in it. Find it on YouTube, it's worth listening to, and someone made an MV with video clips from Suspicious Partner as well. I should have stopped there ! :)
'Messy melodrama' well said ! It started well, interesting, then became so complicated, I had to use the fast forward button. This is the third drama I'm watching with Choi Ji-woo and I have to say, I wouldn't recommend any of them. 'Temptation' was the first and if I can save someone's time by warning them about it, I feel I should. She is very nice but incredibly bland in my opinion, she needs a good story to make the drama worth watching.
Thank you for setting my imagination on fire - your choices are very good even with the two exceptions for which you couldn't find better substitute. Now, what shall we do about the production ? I really, really want to watch it ! :)
Same director as My Mister ? I'm on episode 6 and the similarity stroke me in an instant, not about the subject, obviously, but the way it's made, almost like a docudrama where you no longer see actors but people in real life situations. I worked in offices all my life in two countries and, with few exceptions, I can say all of it happen everywhere in the world. It's so nice to watch it from the comfort of my sofa instead of being in the middle of it not knowing how things will turn out in the end, who is going to get fired and who is going to stay, therefore being loyal to the truth is the only way of staying true to yourself.
Thanks (≧▽≦)I just didn't want anyone to walk into this drama blindly. It wasn't a bad drama, it was just…
Can't stop laughing...I've just finished it...I don't know the speed, just kept pressing the 10 seconds forward button...I re-read your review...10 out of 10 for accuracy. At the end, the accident - I burst out laughing...I mean...how stupid can you be ...and then the van driver...don't they have Specsavers over there ?
As far as I could see, the Chinese are excellent at remakes, I've watched a few and they were really well done. I wonder if this one has been considered by them ?
LOL...you're so funny ! I'm on episode 6 and I wanted some pointers, therefore, thank you ! A while ago I mastered the fast forward button and now I'm sure I won't be missing much using it. I like your final conclusion, can't wait to see the end !
How is the update going ? I've just finished watching it all, I liked it, a clean 10 from me, as well. However, Love In The Moonlight seems a tad more realistic, though, and so much more fun. If I had to choose, I would go with LITM.
As for the angels, no, they don't live among us as humans, they don't need to, and when can they intervene and when can they not ?
