Just finished and I really like how ALMOST everyone was held accountable at the end.
What infuriates me is that Harin's parents got little consequence. They place all the blame on their daughter, disown her, and switch their company's field. Their way of repenting was becoming less sloppy by washing their hands of Harin as if that's some huge character development? That's messed up. They adopted a traumatized child and raised her into the monster she became. They didn't show her any love, didn't give her the help she needed, didn't correct her when she's doing wrong, and allowed her appalling behavior to continue. She was their daughter who could have been someone great if they raised her properly. And since they didn't raise her well, they should take responsibility for it by taking accountability and finally parenting her instead of throwing her away before even trying. I agree she should be put in a psychiatric ward for help and to pay for what she did but disowning her is forgoing their responsibility over her. Now that they have the ability to discipline her, that's what they should be doing. All the adults in her life failed her and they get to get away with it. I wish either Baekyeon group went up in flames or they deal with the monster they help create.
It feels like Ye Rim got off worse than Harin's parents despite her playing a big role in ending the game which is so unfair to me.
I wish there was a drama where a character like the villain of this show was the protagonist. I find influential, two-faced manipulators intruiging in fiction and absolutely loved the dynamic between her and Suji. The way they use their smarts to one up each other is just ✨
Anyone know of any dramas where the FL has a personality like the second FL of this drama? The only FL I can think of is An Ancient Love Song which has a near identical air, for example
watching kdramas dubbed is weird to me..but anyways, I think it's subbed on netflix
It is kind of odd, but I still prefer it to reading subtitles lol so I could pay more attention to the visuals than to reading on top of that. Thank you for letting me know!
Idk why I expected the ending to be different from what it was 😭 They made good use of every minute they had and made such a beautiful drama. The reverse time travel concept and the characters had me binging. When I rewatch, I'll watch the episodes in reverse in order of Lu Yuan's POV.
Do you have any specific examples on how the core plot was ruined in the drama compared to the book? I'm interested…
That is such a huge deviation from the book 🤯. I definitely prefer her soul possessing Jiang Li over what happened in the drama. I wonder why they changed it. I think it's a lot better because I found Fang Fei dedicating her life to avenging the real Jiang Li to be unbelievable since they just met and it was so quick. It would have been better if she became more passionate about avenging her through steadily learning about her life by being her than right off the bat after they just met.
If her face is well known to many in the book, apparently it isn't in the drama. The deviation does make it so weird since Duke Su did remember her face and she has an esteemed reputation. Idk how she hasn't been discovered by more people.
Haven't even finished The Double yet and it's already one of my top 10 favorite dramas ✨ It's been so long since I had a drama I can't stop binging. I even bought Viki because it's taking too long to come out on Netflix.
