If u don't like it don't watch it then their r many others drama go watch them 🤷 no one forcing you u to watch…
i wish i remembered saying i dont like the show. oh well, i always suspected i was speaking to a moron who couldn't grasp the concept of criticizing certain aspects of a thing while still liking it as a whole. use your energy however you like. I'll be in the comments of MDL and there's nothing you can do about it but whine😂

It's not only about that. Critical comments are normal. It's that some people only watch this show to hate on…
most of the time, when I criticize a show, I probably dont event think it's trash. there may just be a certain aspect of it that deserves criticism. just cos i dont like a particular character or plotline doesn't mean I hate the whole show. so I continue to watch because there are other aspects I find enjoyable, and I think that's the same for most people.
On Would You Marry Me? Nov 3, 2025
sorry, but if you can't read critical comments without getting mad and trying to curtail other people's speech, what are you doing on this app? not everyone will share your view but we're all allowed to make our opinions heard, as long as we're not forcing it on anyone. If you want an app that allows only positive comments, go make one.

it really pissed me off that no one mentioned it. they're all better people than me, cos I would've blamed him instantly

I wonder if people are complaining about how quickly the characters fall in love with each other. I think you…
its not about how quickly they fell in love. its about how, realistically speaking, the FL should be skeptical about love and relationships after what she's just recently been through with her ex. no one heals that quickly, unless she didn't learn anything from that experience.

I'm watching episode 3 and enjoying it so far. But I’m confused why the FL would get that drunk during a business…
kdramas are obsessed with drunkenness. how does a grown woman who knows she's probably a lightweight not watch her alcohol intak especially when at such events. they pull out the drunkenness card everytime they want the guy to take the girl home in order to advance their relationship and the plot. it's tacky and overused.

the story is great but 16 episodes would’ve been better… so that’s why it seems things were rushed a little…
i dont think more time would've been the solution. they writers are clearly not interested in delving into anything deep. the show wants to keep everything as light-hearted and on the surface as possible. but they really didn't need to go too deep to show how betrayal makes it hard to trust.

that's a world class pivot, and you conveniently avoided addressing the very valid concerns i raised in my comment. i DO watch the show, and my criticisms stems from my personal perception of art, perceptions which I've never forced on anybody.

Another unrealistic thing is Kdramas ML most of the times fall in love with FL just like that.
I'm still trying to understand how, when, and why he fell in love with her. the only explanation I have is the childhood connection
On Would You Marry Me? Nov 3, 2025
there's a lot of comments about people saying "oh it's just a romcom" and "why are you criticizing it for being what it is", "why were you expecting something special"

so because it's a romcom means we should be complacent with it's mediocrity? where did this mindset that romcoms are meant to be bland and repetitive stem from? lots of romcoms out there are unique and original. it doesn't even have to be original, but just try to take the story to a new, fresh place, even if the premise is based on a trope like this one is. but this show is NOT trying at all. being a romcom is no excuse for being bad. I'm not saying it's bad, but you're trying to act like romcoms have a right to be bad just cos they're romcoms. honestly, it's painting a bad picture of the genre.

I'd like to see more of the Pyo kid. So far, he's just been this annoying brat standing as a foil to the ML. But episode 7 showed that there may be more to him. It's clear that his hatred for Tae Poong stems from an inferiority complex that's fueled by his own father. Plus, he's desperate to please his dad and prove himself worthy. i wouldn't mind going deeper into his character and his relationship with his father.

i feel like after your ex boyfriend of five years cheated on you, there should be some sort of residual, I don't know if the word trauma is too heavy for this, but it should be hard for you to get into a relationship with someone else. Trust and security should not have come so easily to her. He told her about his feelings and all she could think about was money, instead of considering whether she's ready to give her heart to someone else soon. Sure, the ML is a great guy, but I pretty sure her ex was acting like a great guy too when they were together. that sort of experience stays with you and affects your future relationships. I know the show and characters are shallow, but the fact that she's just fine and ready to fall in love again is one of the most unrealistic things about this show.
On Would You Marry Me? Nov 2, 2025
in my opinion, the childhood connection was a big mistake. I'm still convinced that he only fell in love with her because of it. and how did she fall for him??? it's like she only likes him cos he said he likes her. can someone please recommend a romance that actually shows two people falling in love gradually.

Stories about characters striving to achieve their dreams are always special. When done right, such shows can be both eye-opening and deeply motivational. Typhoon Family is exactly that — a brilliant blend of likable, relatable characters, consistently realistic storytelling, and timeless themes of determination, perseverance, and hard work.

Set against the dreary backdrop of an economically unstable Korea, this drama is on a clear path to becoming one of the year’s best.

The main character is as good as it gets — smart, charming, youthful, kind, and undeniably handsome. I could go on and on about Kang Tae-poong, but what truly stands out is how perfectly Lee Junho embodies him. Tae-poong often finds himself in over his head, yet he’s never afraid to ask for help, never afraid to fail, and never afraid to try again. He’s resilient and optimistic, but even the strongest have a breaking point — and I’m eager to see his. Still, with his passion, sharp instincts, and strong support system, it’s hard to imagine him not succeeding.

Our female lead complements him beautifully. She’s intelligent, dutiful, and far more than just a romantic interest. She’s a fully developed character with her own struggles and obstacles to overcome. The supporting cast also contributes meaningfully, each serving the story effectively in their own capacities.

Typhoon Family is very much a character-driven drama rather than a plot-driven one. The characters shape their own destinies, and their choices naturally move the story forward. Themes of ambition, greed, trust, perseverance, and the balance of risk and reward are woven neatly into the narrative, delivering powerful life and business lessons along the way. I know I’ve personally learned a thing or two.

I was once asked why I watch K-dramas when I’m so particular about solid plot writing and complex characters. The answer is simple — every once in a while, a drama like Typhoon Family comes along. A show so well-crafted that it can rival even the best of Hollywood’s productions. And honestly, I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world.
