I'm sorry but that's such an ignorant reply. You're acting like the west have a very accurate opinion of muslims when everybody knows damn well what kind of image is being circulated in media, if you wanna pretend that it varies case by case, let me tell you that only a small minority of people in the west went out of their way to do some research and have an accurate view of muslims based on it.
You're funny mentioning christians as an example as if the whole world hasn't underwent westernization a process that has started decades ago and is still ongoing.
People's opinion on a population or any other thing depends heavily on what is circulated in the media. The entire word has been exposed to a certain image of the west. Similarly, SK now earned a certain positive image thanks to the hallyu wave. But muslims?? they've been depicted as barbarians for decades, courtesy of the west, and don't act like other countries don't repeat whatever the US says. It'd very stupid to pretend otherwise.
As an old Jewish white woman, I, too, was shocked and dismayed at the depiction. I can't believe such a ignorant…
You do you, I already felt bad for generalising the moment I sent the comment but I needed it as a retaliation, so my bad if I offended people like you. You're respectful, I appreciate that.
Most Arab royals are polygamous. Many wealthy and upper-middle-class Arabs are polygamous. Most Arab friends I…
"There's a whole genre of comedic Arab parody out there about the stereotypes and no Arab has ever complained about it." --- If arab people want to expose the vices of their society, it's their right! But adding those same traits they supposedly make fun of themselves in a drama where it has absolutely no relation to the drama that's where it goes wrong! it's not marketed as a drama denouncing the dark sides of arab society, ITS A FREAKING ROM COM! I assure they could have made him fall in love with sarang and be fun while still being respectful to the religion

a character can be fun without being a drunkard but that's smth foreign to you all drunkards bc you can't have fun without having a sip of alcohol, tragic.

if even ppl from the west who literally had the most interaction muslim, have the most backward ignorant concepts abt muslim, even in the days of internet and accessibility to information, then i have every right to assume that people living in homogenous cultures have even worse opinion.

first of all, marital rape and all kind of rape is forbidden in islam. Second of all, if you wanna argue abt how it's unfair that widowed women are placed under the custody of a man, it's simply bc a man is obliged to provide a roof, clothes and food for a woman so she doesn't have to worry abt it herself. A man's money belongs to him and the women related to him while a woman's money is ONLY hers to handle. Those financial privileges are granted upon women by god himself. A woman can ask for conditions in the marriage contract including matters regarding work, and the husband to be has to agree if he wants to marry her. But the west loves to twist these concepts to fit their agenda. Also don't expect to click on your links, they're all from europe and or from organisation owned by the west, the very same ppl who love to demonize anyone that don't agree with them.
It's interesting that moslems demand free propagada for their religion even though the character never stated…
congratulations on commenting the dumbest thing out of all the comments here. Truly impressed. One, there's no such thing as an islamic muslim and non islamic muslim, idek what you want to say by "islamic". Second, is asking to be respectful of one's religion is free propaganda now? "but he's actually a fun character blablabla, he drinks and falls in love with sarang" Point is, they could have made him a fun character while not sinning in terms of our religion, every non muslim in the comments is convinced ppl can't be fun if they're religious. The only reason i see the writers writing him like that is that they know jackshit abt our religion and thought making him a drunkard would make him likeable, since drinking culture is so strong in SK.
You guys would be crying rivers if it was any other culture being disrespected, but when muslims want a better representation, the problem is suddenly us??? Idc what real life arab princes are doing, if it were any other important figure from another country, you'd bet they'd be depicted with the characteristics of their own culture. Yet they had to misrepresent the arab prince based on a real life inspiration. Especially when the bad deeds of the said prince are not even necessary for the plot to advance!!!! Now the only idea koreans will have of a muslim man is someone who goes to bar and drinks with women. SK is already harsh to muslims residing in their country, Muslims there are harassed constantly having a pig head put in front of their door. the racism is rampant there, but sure asking to correct muslims asking for a correct representation are the villains here!! Most of the MDLers here are old white women who have nothing to do but oggle at young actors, facing absolutely no discrimination in real life. Koreans already idolise your white ways, you think you can have a say in what others think is offending? And no i'm not sorry for generalising an entire userbase, when you have no shame generalising an entire culture, respect is earned.
I aspire to see your reaction when they insult your country
Why should they get offended when another country is insulted? How are they supposed what's insulting in another country and what's not? It's the job if the insulted country to raise their voices and it's the job of everyone else to either support them or shut their own mouth. Basic respect has disappeared from the internet.
Its a tv show, its not going to be accurate, people need to stop apologising over nothing. Would you rather they…
Then why do koreans themselves cry over the slightest inaccuracy when it's supposed to be fiction? Or is getting offended a privilege only bestowed to koreans and everyone else should shut their mouth?
This is about the Arab Muslim stuff. Respectfully skip if you do not want to read it. I have only realised now…
I don't agree with the part that ppl can skip your comment just bc it's about arab muslim stuff. Regardless if they like muslims or not, everyone ought to have basic respect for other cultures and religions. Your comment is well explained.
It’ll be his third project with Kim Jae-uck after Voice and The Guest.
wow! the actor and the director must get along. Personally I'm in for Jo Bo Ah, so I was glad to see the director is very talented, this upcoming drama can only be good too
