that's the main problem. if she's a god why doesn't she just appear in her actual form? and if she MUST have a human body that is actually her, why isn't it indestructible or at least a bit more durable? If she stole another ACTUAL human's body and died back and forth that would make much more sense actually than her own body dying back and forth. I know she herself doesn't die just gets kicked out of her 'vessel' temporarily but if the vessel IS actually her that's when it becomes absurd.
