Okay so for The Prisoner of Beauty I came to its MDL page almost everyday, then began to read the novel and it suddenly got released earlier than I expected. What if I do that for this one too? (but this one is an original script and I can't read it anywhere to fill the void) PLEASE AIR SOON!!! PLEEEEAAASE!
Finally finished this. This was a very well produced and acted drama. Unfortunate that the story, editing and pacing fell short and because of that all the deaths and the romance development didn't have the impact it should have had for me and felt too abrupt. The last two episodes felt like the downgraded version of The Red Wedding lol. And the sudden flashes of calm and peace in between chaos and death were so discombobulating.
That ending honestly I could smell from a mile away... *sigh* How I hate sad endings...
I love the ending music so much... but Idk why I feel like the pacing is a little weird. Though its a very good quality drama and I'm definitely going to finish it, I'm not very crazy about it either. It just feels like something is missing
The rating is high, is it that good? I want a bit of refreshment after my exams the next few days, hopefully this…
Its quite good. Definitely worth the watch. I'd say this is just a small step lower than SOKP for me which is my highest rated costume cdrama until now
Guys, don't you think we are being a bit too happy and relaxed? We're at ep 17 of a 36 ep drama. There's still a…
everything is happening so fast with all the reveals I'm getting a bit stressed. It took almost 100 chapters (of basically "nothing" but still) for that Wei Yan incident to happen in the novel. Although they seem to have completely separated the two big events connected to him especially the painting one.
I feel like if hadn’t read the novel first i would’ve felt the same thing because there are a lot of blank…
Oh no I totally agree. The things you mentioned are definitely the greatest weakness of the novel. Definitely love the fl in the drama, she was terribly boring in the novel. But ml was actually morally gray with no sugarcoating which i liked. I think simply the ruthlessness of the ml and more details in some scenes are the main things i liked in the novel which deeply complements the drama for me (i just fill in the empty scenes and do semi-headcanons lol). The relationship developed between the mains in the novel was very jarring for me too and though its much better in the drama i feel like it was also too friendly a bit too fast
I'm on ep 06 and I feel like the enemies-to-lovers trope ended way too soon :/ they're moving too fast or does…
Yes they did somewhat end it verrrrry soon in the drama. I think thats mostly because they’re going with the ml being quite a softie in the drama version
I wish I liked this drama more. I'm enjoying it. I don't mind it. But it's very on the surface for me.
I feel like if hadn’t read the novel first i would’ve felt the same thing because there are a lot of blank spaces and skips and changes. I think best way to enjoy this is having consumed both novel and drama, somethings are perfect in the drama while other things are better in the novel
The Wei yan in the drama is so weird because he looks like a mixture of wanting murder FL and **** her brains out at the same time but not at all in a hot way😟 hes so creepy
OMG ..SIS....Honestly that’s my only issue with this drama 😤 I’m not asking for full-on 18+ novel content,…
Omg I couldn't have articulated this any better 😭 exactly!! Especially because the censorship in cdramas aren't 100%. Like in other dramas we do get pretty good kiss scenes and full tension steamy scenes...
This ended way too soon for my liking. I felt like the scene with WS's cousin was longer and more tense than the following scene with Xiao Qiao. That whole suddenly picking her up was reaaaallly good though, unfortunate it ended with a small slap.
I think if they really didn't want any sort of... "involvement" with Xiao Qiao, maybe they should have put the kick in the face scene here lmao, like she slaps him and it doesn't work so she kicks him and that sort of snaps him out of it a little and then he storms out and away from her to try to relieve himself alone 🤭🙈

My final rating, and I'm being kind here: 6.5/10
