Interesting script, one of YY's better portrayal and cutie Zhao LS never fails to capture poignant moments! I like the subtle 'thought' processing in this cat & mouse trapping drama. Leads were true to each other that thankfully kept the regular palace jealousy, scheming & backstabbing out! Exciting fight/battle scenes! Entertaining but not a 10!
I'm midway through this drama and am so glad there's a fast forward clicker to quickly past the pathetic FL's whiney, childish, lovesick, totally humiliated character as a rich President of an elite hotel! The only thing going for her is her fashion wardrobe! Come on writers! Why waste so much screen time trying to wrench our emotions on stupidity! Could easily reduce this drama by almost 10 episodes with the add on players and put an end to this exciting cat & mouse game plot! I'll have my finger on fast forward as I continue...
This fictional, historical kdrama was addictively titillating! Always enjoy a captivating script that has smooth, exciting story telling, all in 12 episodes!
After watching Lee Joon gi in 'Scholar walks the night' & 'Iljimae' I was thrilled to find him in this crime drama! Great cast portraying the court room, corrupted high officials, gangsters, murder etc. Naturally there's always an arrogant, obnoxious character, Ahn Oh-joo exaggerating his role as a gangster/godfather wannabe to aggravate an otherwise entertaining drama. Moving on to another LJG kdrama, 'Flower of evil'. I think I have a crush on this adorable unique guy! 😍
I'm at episode 2 and need to ask this question, why is there always extremely loud, fast talking, screaming dialog in kdramas besides being easily triggered off with physical action! Is this the norm in Korean lifestyle or is it exaggerated for dramas? For an enjoyable show there should be less screaming and more action! I enjoy court room dramas & criminal cases and have viewed several outstanding dramas & this one is commented to be a hilarious concept. I'll stay on as long as my ears can take it! 😵💫
Twist & turn plots in a well written script! A missing map, murder, familial conspiracies, laced with romance of main leads and some comic interaction makes for an exciting kdrama! If they could have bummed off the loud, scheming, screaming Min Ae early it would have saved my sanity! Loved the first several episodes when they were children, the child actors were superb and kept my attention to watch the entire 50 episodes.
Another great production from Studio Dragon! To begin, I'm not a big fan of horror or supernatural dramas! Watched Alchemy of Souls because of Lee Jae Wook and found it surprisingly entertaining but season 2 was disappointing!! Island has almost the same vibe with a little bit of this and that in terms of fantasy beings/beasts, exorcism, exciting duels and tech music that took the edge of bloody encounters! There's a hidden story somewhere in this first season, hope season 2 will be a thrilling revelation!
A cop drama with nitty gritty action flashbacks! What an explosive change after watching historical tear jerker King of tears! The soft mysterious title belies this action packed thriller! Versatile Nam Koong at his best! Great script, awesome cast, addictive kdrama! A captivating must watch!
As usual, to watch or not to....hesitant at mid-episode 3! Read the comments, undecided. Nam Koong was great in The Veil that I just finished, had high expectations for this drama with him as ML! Story, a little confusing start, NK looked somewhat different, younger? Enter the kiddish co-players and the abnoxious, confused head scratching chief....the end!
Venturing into Japanese dramas. Enjoyed the 2 seasons of Midnight Diner & a couple of movies, one of which was rather bloody gritty for me! Found this recommendation on Netfix, pleasantly surprised with the well written script, great cast portrayal with non cheesy comic relief! Well paced action and not overly bloody scenes. Very entertaining for a cop drama!
Truly surprised of how this story unfolds! A crime committed that exposes greed, power play and open infidelity in an elite family & acquaintances. Great script, awesome cast with gorgeous fashion changes! Kudos to the wise 11yr old Ji hoo who had the best lines! A must watch kdrama!
A really great script but as usual adapted from anime and the need for clingy females, goofy antics, idiotic mannerisms, cheezy & childish interaction! MZTV subtitles were great but then some episodes were missing! Quit at Ep 16.
As always, first season the best! It took 2 eps to relate to the new FL, felt like Jang-uk was cheating on Mu deok! Glad it was only 10 eps to bring it to a lack luster finale of an otherwise awesome fantasy kdrama!
Best fantasy kdrama! Love sassy Mu Deok and a sweet crush on LJW, great chemistry of the leads! Great script, costumes, sets and brilliant cinematography! A stand out drama from the regular ho hum dramas!
So glad I watched & finished this drama! Finally answered my question on why Crown Prince Sado was put into the rice bin! It's like a prelude to 'Lee San, Wind in the Palace' (I assume). Great cast, costume and script. Slow moving but addictive. Another great historical kdrama!
