Title Mr. Queen
I just finished watching all 8 episodes. I must say they focused too much on Bong Hwan's character. And, they…
I see how evil the Kim's clan are. They make people suffered and used the king as puppet for their selfish gain. When Shin Hye Sun character still has the Choi Jin Hyuk voiceover and sitting on the throne beside the king, it was mentioned that Kim Jwa Geun holds more power than the king himself.

Although the queen's behaviors when the chef's soul stuck in her body and especially after royal marriage are funny, they are actually unladylike and rude especially to her own husband, the king but peoples in the palace just let them slide since she is from the powerful Kim's clan.

Even Byung In, the queen's adopted cousin can easily barged into the queen's chamber and threaten the king because he is an adopted son of the powerful Kim's clan while the king is powerless.

And we also know that the Kim's clan is one of the culprit behind the death of the king's family member and he even got nightmare because he witness the tragic incident.

Kim So Yong tried to commit suicide before their marriage because the king treated her coldly.
But why he treat her coldly?
Because the reason she got chosen to be his queen in the first place is she is from the powerful Kim's clan.
The same clan that kill his family member until he has nightmare until adult, forced him pretends to be a dumb and puppet king or they will dethrone him anytime.

Kim So Yong is pitiful but she is not the only victim here. The king don't live a joyous life either after the death of his family member and even he become the king her clan treated him like crap.

She is from the powerful clan, has a loving father and loyal servant while he is only has little allies, Hwa Jin, his older brother and special director Hong and no strong connection like her.

People that has no problem with Kim's clan are either skipped the scenes that mentioned these things or just look this drama from their narrow romantic perspective.

When the king is still a young boy, the queen's clan which is the powerful Kim's clan at that time, involved in killing his family's member until he often has nightmare about it and after he grown up her clan crowned him as a king because they thought he is easy to control since he has no support or backup.

While he become king, he has to pretends to be dumb and clueless puppet king or they will find ways to dethrone him.

There are peoples that he trust and care which are:
-His concubine, Hwa Jin, which he fall in love with because he believe she saved him when he was a young boy but actually she lied about it.
-His older half-brother, Prince Yeong Pyeong, that become the royal guard and he guards the king's bed chamber. He has affection towards Hwa Jin and constantly remind the king that his wife is from evil Kim's clan.
-Special director Hong, his best friend that loyal to him.

Then Kim's clan chosen her to be his queen. So after the king married the queen, do you think he will say,
"I'm so happy because I'm married you. So let's live happily ever after with many children, my queen!"
Of course he will be cautious towards her, wondering if she is one of Kim's clan spy and one day will betray him.

The past Kim So Yong story is tragic but come on, she is not the only victim here.

I am not the only one who is feeling like this. I started this drama for Kim Jung Hyun. And, they really made…
Most audiences are used to dashing and powerful male lead especially if he is a king/crown prince. King Cheol Jong was definitely not like that if they read his real life in history.

But I like it and feel it refreshing because the king and queen characters are kinda reversed from the typical main male lead and main female lead especially in a Korean historical romance dramas.

The main male lead is a king that has little allies and no support so he has to appear as a dumb and clueless puppet while the main female lead is a queen that did many things that considered unsophisticated and unladylike but many peoples just let that slide since she is from a powerful Kim's clan. She even helped him to save his concubine LOL

He is calm and delicate while she is fierce and sometimes a bit hyper. Whenever they are together, they will becomes a silly and funny royal couple haha

Kim Jung Hyun and Shin Hye Sun performances and chemistry performance together are daebakkk!

I don't understand those that are empathetic towards the the queen and not the King. I mean I obviously love Bongwan/Queen,but…
In this drama I realized the main male lead and main female lead characters are reversed from the typical main leads in the Korean historical dramas.

Others:
-If the main male lead is from a royalty/noble he will be powerful and dashing while the main female lead will be from a lower class/fallen noble and always need the main male lead protection.

This drama:
-The main male lead is a puppet king with little allies and no support while the main female lead is a queen from a powerful clan and she was the one that help him instead like saving his concubine from the beheading punishment.

Although the queen past story before she married the king is really pitiful but she has father, loyal maids and powerful Kim's clan as backup while the king only has special director Hong, Hwa Jin (that lied to him about being his savior and later will probably used him), his brother (has affection for Hwa Jin and constantly remind him to stay away from his wife) on his side.

Also, the king character here is calm and delicate while the queen is fierce and and sometimes kind of hyper LOL. I think that's why people can easily attracted and sympathized to queen's character instead.

But I really love the reversed characters of this royal couple so much and Kim Jung Hyun and Shin Hye Sun together are perfection.

Yes show is funny (initial episodes) and dark at the same time, as it supposed to be, because it is loosely based…
No. He is a chef in a modern time before his soul goes into a body of current queen in Joseon time.

The "dragon ball" refer to the man private part because right now his soul is stuck in a woman. He mentioned that because he is frustrated when he didn't had man private part anymore in his current body.

Is this entire show funny like this clip: ???https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GTHI1zI4YIIf it is I might actually…
This drama has comedy, political and romance genre.

Comedy is mainly on the Mr Queen part, the main female lead because she is a current queen in Joseon time with a body that been possessed by a soul that inhabited a man who is a chef in modern time before.

Political is mainly on the King Cheol Jong part, the main male lead because he is a reigning king fighting against the noble clans corruption and try to become a good ruler.

Romance is on the Mr Queen & King part because they slowly become a enemies to lovers royal couple.

This felt light-hearted and funny even with all that heavy palace drama and political fights all thanks to so…
After the King and Queen got married, I prefer to call her So Bong.
So (Yong) + Bong (Hwan) = So Bong^_^

Ep.8 started slowly but ended with a bang...Can Queen's cousin stop third wheeling and just go away please?
But I'm satisfied he saw their kiss.
At least now he know that whether he like it or not the king is the queen husband.

So whether it will be:
1)Bong Hwan is the reincarnation of So Yong in the future

OR

2)Bong Hwan's soul and So Yong's soul will emerge to one and create a Queen with new personality

Because if the past So Yong will return back in the end and she just be happily ever after with the king, it's count as deceiving him because he fall in love when Bong Hwan soul possessed So Yong's body while if So Yong and Bong Hwan has different soul yet only Bong Hwan's soul stuck in the So Yong's body forever it is unfair to So Yong.

I wonder how it will end. For the meantime I'm enjoying King and Queen scenes together. Kim Jung Hyun and Shin Hye Sun chemistry is daebak!!!

Leave him alone lmao.. i have soft spot for him because of his hotness and his obsession to protect the queen.…
He can act like that because his father is one of the powerful people in the Kim clan.

The king has to pretend to be a dumb puppet king in the court because his father now he act "I Know It All" to the king with the belief he's protecting the queen ughh

I think KJH is not getting the credit he deserves. SHS's character obviously is more appealing and fun to watch, but…
Right! Everyone can easily attracted to Shin Hye Sun funny and lively character. Me too.

But Kim Jung Hyun character development yesterday is so good. When he yell to the people in the room where near the queen is lying, I got chills.

Btw my annoyed level for the cousin increased day by day. When he's trying to kiss the queen while she's unconscious yikes!
