According to the synopsis and trailer, the main female lead husband died not long after they had a son. After that the son becomes the next king.
Pity that she had to get married with the main male lead's brother although she in love with the main male lead because she thought that the main male lead died on the battlefield.
But it is also refreshing to see a drama about the main female lead as queen that become widow and has a son. Usually the Chinese historical dramas that I watch always focused on the main male leads struggled as emperor, crown prince, prince or men in high status whether they are virgin, married or become widower while the main female leads are usually a virgin.
There is no tragedy tag?? It sounds like tragedy to me
I don't think it is a tragedy because actually the main male lead doesn't die. It is a fake news.
Unless you count the second male lead (whom is main male lead's brother and main female lead's husband) death as a tragedy.
From the trailer it seem there will be a conflict between main male lead and main female lead's son that become the next king after her husband's death.
So from the sinopsis the fl was married with ml brother and have a kid? I dont like this kind of genre :(

the epilogue very cute and sweet. However it’s also very unrealistic because there is no logical reason as to…
There are many plot hole in the story especially when you re watch it. The assassin plot was quite weak, how they finally located and able to confronted the Dong Shi in his secret hideout also kinda like, "what, just like that?" And other thing was quite confusing.
But Zheng Ye Cheng and Hu Yi Xuan acting and chemistry are so compatible together that it blinded us and gave MangoTV opportunity to scam more money from the loyal viewer through the epilogue LOL
Well, at least it is a happy ending. Thank you to Mr Director! I'm quite tired with the open ending in other drama that I watch=_=
I hope Zheng Ye Cheng and Hu Yi Xuan will have the chance to work together again in a drama with a better plot and sensible ending (happy or sad ending don't matter, as long as it is not an open ending)
He with Hu Yi Xuan are perfect together. He surely fall into Hu Yi Xuan's charm after the sleepless princess.…
I always feel the passion with the way Zheng Ye Cheng look at his love interest in dramas because he is a talented actor. And that is why he is one of my favorite actor.
But I agree with your comment when I see his action in the bts and especially their MGTV interview. I believe they're still in the"we are just friend" status right now but to me it is obvious that he is attracted to her more than just a friend.
I had watch his interview with Zhao Lu Si and An Yue Xi before since he also acted with them in dramas. Although he is cheerful, always smiling and laughing there too but in the interview with Hu Yi Xuan, while it is his turn to talk or her turn to talk, he will always look/stare at her. He is also kind of more giddy, he licked or pursed his lip and can't hold his grin or smile when she mentioned about him in her answers for their interview's questions.
No wonder tho, she is so cute and some of her answers in their interview are kind of funny LOL
Whether they will just be friends or more than that, the most important is I want to see them to act together again!
Thank goodness for Maiden Holmes drama that is so good that it’s keeping me entertained and distracting me from…
I think that's because when we watch B, C or D grade dramas like this, we don't have high expectations like the expectations for dramas that have big promotions or hype even before airing.
My favorite genre is romance especially historical romance. And usually hype dramas plot don't focus with romance although the dramas had the romance tagged or using the sentence "love" in the dramas tittle.
The plot in dramas with big promotions and hype even before airing are usually full with back stabbing, fighting, war, and the most annoying thing to me is the main male lead couldn't has a good romantic development with main female lead because the second female lead always clinging with him like an elephant glue, or they gonna give second male lead many development scenes with main female lead or make him as the dashing knight in shining armor for her.
I don't care if the hype dramas have less or don't have romance at all but why did give fake hope in the synopsis, tittle or trailer to hopeless romantic idiot like me?X(
That frustrated me so much. I usually get sweet, romantic, fluffy romance with good chemistry between the main male lead and main female lead in the B, C or D grade dramas instead.
General and I (Wallace Chung and Angelababy) The Sleepless Princess (Zheng Ye Cheng and Hu Yi Xuan) General's Lady (Caesar Wu and Tang Min) Jin Xin Si Yu (Tan Song Yun and Wallace Chung)
All these historical dramas are about general's romance story.
And as a hopeless romantic idiot, I'm gonna watch all dramas with theme like this XD
Zheng Ye Cheng is not just a guy with handsome face, he is also a talented actor. So, I hope he has chance to acts as main male lead in drama with actresses like Bai Lu, Tan Song Yun, Yang Zi and Li Yi Tong as main female lead!
And I want to see him acts with Hu Yi Xuan again. They have good chemistry with each other.
What MangoTV did to "Princess Agents"? Did they also leave that drama ending as open ending and put the real ending…
The director of this drama mentioned through his social media that they decided to make this drama as happy ending when filming it.
But because this drama gain many audience (about 9 mil right now) although there wasn't any promotion, MangoTV decided to cut out the happy ending scenes to earn more profit.
People who watch through the MangoTV apps mentioned that there is extra episode but only will be open on 9/9/2020 for VIP members (meaning you have to pay to watch it).
Is this a thing mango tv/hunan tv does to its most lucrative shows? First I saw “princess agents” with amazing…
What MangoTV did to "Princess Agents"?
Did they also leave that drama ending as open ending and put the real ending as epilogue to earn more money like they did with "The Sleepless Princess" too?
Thank you. I'm really grateful that they make it happy ending. Actually I don't mind if a drama has sad ending…
The info in your comment really help to ease my feeling . So I share it to other there hehe
I'm seriously irritated with the ending in episode 35. They really think the scene with Xue Yao carry Chu Yue until at the edge of the cliff as a realistic ending? ughh I feel like throwing away my phone LOL
Btw, are you a soompi member too or just a silent reader?
fucking shit i really didnt started this drama watch for the ending some of hype dramas this year gets messed…
The director said they make it as a happy ending but MangoTV decided to cut the happy ending scenes and put it as an epilogue and released it next week so they can earn more money when audience watch it on their app.
And I don't think this drama is a hype. Although Zheng Ye Cheng is quite talented and popular, Hu Yi Xuan is not a popular actress and there was no big promotions for this drama at all.
If not because of their great chemistry with each other as the main couple, I doubt this drama will gain fans that willing to watch until the end and make MangoTV decided to put the happy ending scenes in other episode so they can earn more money.
I saw the director’s official statement on weibo and it looks like it was originally scripted to be an open…
Thank you. I'm really grateful that they make it happy ending.
Actually I don't mind if a drama has sad ending like Goodbye My Princess. But sorry, I hate open ending. Especially if you don't planned for season 2 at all from the beginning. It really annoyed me when I watch a drama until the end and the ending is hanging just like that.
For me, sad ending is not a bad ending but an open ending is totally a bad ending.
I don't understand what do you mean by "male lead look too young"? 0_0
Maybe you judge based on their profile pictures?
Perhaps we have to wait for the official trailer, poster and stills first.

Wallace Chung as a handsome general again like his past drama, "General and I" XD

Is the main male lead in this drama is a general? Or just a duke?
A Mydramalist member told me that in the novel the main female lead, Bai Ying (Yukee Chan), is Crown Prince Zhen Lan (Zheng Ye Cheng) wife.
And his character here is the selfless second male lead that willing to protect main female lead although she like the main male lead.
ughh I could feel that I'm gonna get a second lead syndrome here;-(
So, I hope he has chance to acts as main male lead in drama with actresses like Bai Lu, Tan Song Yun, Yang Zi and Li Yi Tong as main female lead!
And I want to see him acts with Hu Yi Xuan again.
They have good chemistry with each other.
And contract/forced/arranged marriage plot is my favorite!
But MangoTV again? =_=
I'm still bitter with what they did to Hu Yi Xuan and Zheng Ye Cheng past drama, The Sleepless Princess.
Will MangoTV cut out the real ending scenes again if this drama gain many audience like they did to "The Sleepless Princess" before? X(
