Yes true! Tbh I never saw him as a bad boy, we all saw his cute side. And he's also very funny. Hope he plays a nerd or has a role in a sitcom one day. He'll be brilliant in that 😉

On episode 15, liking it so far. Yes, it's based on corporate life, which is difficult to understand, because even I'm a teenager lol 😂 and also watching it for Di Di. I have the exact same thoughts. And I actually like Qi Xiao more than Dao Ming Si, maybe because I'm more into cute guys, and he's too cute. Loved seeing Di Di shedding his bad-boy reputation.

Have you binged the entire serial? I binged 10 episodes when it first aired on Netflix, which is a bonus to me as I never binged that much (or maybe because of the long wait).

Just started watching this on Netflix and I can't believe I just binge-watched 7 episodes! Normaly, I'm that kind of person who watched 1-3 episodes a day, but 7 episodes! That's a good sign! And the leads have great chemistry despite the age gap (not on the romantic part yet, but seen a lot of their scenes before trl released on Netflix). And I don't even feel the age gap at all! Looks more like a 10 year one than a 19-20 year one. I'll keep watching. So far, so good.

Just read your review. I didn't mind the spoilers as I finished the drama some days back. But it's not as bad as other viewers claim it to be. Yes, it's not a perfect drama, but it's not at all bad.
My most favourite parts were the trio: Qingqing, Qianxun and Long Wang. When they're together, then they were very funny, and I loved the bromance between Long Wang and Qian Xun, and 9f course, Qing Qing catching them in an awkward position, lol🤣 (oh how I wish that this was a BL!)
Out of the entire drama, my favourite character is Qing Qing. I love her cuteness, was very funny and has great chemistry with Qian Xun. A lot of people say that QQ and XQX have better chemistry than the main cp but tbh I have no preference (I actually feel sad for Dylan and Bambi, mainly because I'm a big fan of Dylan, actually to me, Long Wang and XQX were the most shippable). I wished that the main cp was better written though.
And you're so right about Dylan's performance. Yes, he was stiff most of the time, but it's his character requirement. He was much more expressive in his other dramas (he was also somewhat expressive when he was with XQX and QQ). In this drama, his eyes do most of the talking.
And to make it clear, Long Wang did say that she will always be his Xiao Liu Ying, no matter how much she reincarnates., out of which my favourite one was Feng Chen Yue, as it was very refreshing to see her as a brave general (and a shrewd one) than a damsel in distress. But despite her reincarnations, Long Wang always saw her as Liu Ying.
And I also liked Deng Wei. Can't believe that it was his first role! Looking forward to his future dramas.
And I hope that there's as season 2, in a modern setting this time, where Log Wang is reincarnated as a human, and Liu Ying should be a demon this time (a cat, most preferably). This time, both of the couples should be well-written.

Jasper and Yue have good chemistry, but I dropped this as I was losing interest in it and got hooked onto other cdramas. Some parts were a bit weird, some were cliched. But I think the actors did a good job in portraying their characters.
May come back to it later on. Right now, I'm excited to see TRL after a long time with English subs. Comparatively, this has a better concept than UFMT.

I actually liked the ending. Maybe it's just me. Finished watching it few days back. And it wasn't a perfect drama, but a good watch. And Yu Chi Long Yan's character is like that: cold and stiff but very warm inside. And why don't the critiques notice that he's also expressive while bickering with Xue Qian Xun and in some funny scenes?
And the "Heavenly Emperor" was so........stupid!!!!!! Longyan never absorbed the Yin soul willingly! Qing Yan gave it to him to revive him! And so funny that he trusted the evil Immortal of Fate and was against the good characters! What he did was injustice!
And I rooted for both the couples. I do not have a preference on which couple is better. All of the characters dod a good job, and my fave was Qing Qing 🤣 and actually the trio (Dragon, Lord and Qing Qing) the most out of the characters, as well as Feng Chen Yue, I think this was her best lifetime.
I hope that there's a season 2, in a modern setting, where the Dragon King was reincarnated as a human and Liu Ying is reincarnated as a cat demon this time.
It would have been better if MTD was a BL with Yu Chi Long Yan and Xue Qian Xun though. They definately have very good chemistry.

You've said it all! And, being a Dylan Wang fan, I have seen a lot of his performances. In MG and EN2, he was very expressive. This was the first time he was playing this type of character, and in my opinion, he has done a great job.

You have explained Yu Chi Long Yan so well! His expressions are mostly stiff because his character IS like that! I've seen Dylan's other performances and he usually is very expressive. Thank you for your statement.

Teacher He should have made the environment easier for Dylan because as soon as he got the mask off, he started to feel very uncomfortable, and the pressure was overwhelming for him. On top of that, teacher He was being harsh. But Dylan performed very well in the audition as Dao Ming Si, which is why he was chosen, along with Leon Leong, to be in Meteor Garden by Angie Chai.

Yes. The old trope of "accidental kisses" are so overused in CDramas tbh, even though there are some like Skate Into Love which was HILARIOUS! But thankfully there is no accidental kiss here. And a slow burn romance in a drama is realistic when the FL is 10+ yrs older than the ML.

The age difference is not that much in the drama though. People should learn to differentiate between the actors and the fictional characters they play. Qin Lan is going to be 42, but plays a woman in her mid-thirties. And tbh, I actually don't feel the age gap between the leads. They surely hit off!
