This doesn't turn into a love triangle. This might be a spoiler, but when Xu Mingjie tried to make a move in her, she rejected him. However, he doesn't become a villian. Instead, he respects her and keeps a professional relationship. And this Qi Xiao vs the boss doesn't last long. I've watched the whole thing. So I suggest you to stick to it and be patient.

You should watch "The Rational Life". This is also slow-paced, but it depicts a healthier relationship, and also a big age gap btw the leads.

Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but seen some parts and the first 3 episodes, and it was HILARIOUS! I'm a CDrama rookie, so didn't know Liang Jie, only knew Zhang Xincheng. Zhang Xincheng never fails to have chemistry with his costars, and tbh I like him more as a girl in a man's body. Liang Jie was also very good as playing the stone-faced Jiang Yi in Yu Shangsheng's body. Hope to watch the whole drama.

Totally agree with you. This is more about life, not just abt the FL, but it also revolves around difficulties finding a job (Su Yang and Song Ziyan) and having a married life in which a childless married couple is pressured into having kids (Song Ziyan and Zou Cheng), neglect and also about women living in a patriarchal society. The romance part is also important at it also revolves around a big age gap in which the woman is older than the man. It's more of a feminist drama tbh. I think we are more used to watching CDramas which are completely romantic, like Meteor Garden and Find Yourself, hence people get bored. But I still loved this drama, even though I may not have the complete maturity to understand it bc I'm a teenager, but still worth a watch.

Modern Romcom or simply a sitcom would suit him best, bc he's naturally very funny and playful. Or a school campus drama too, bc he's still very young, and never saw him in highschool dramas (although MG is a campus drama, but it was set in a college).

The ML is the kind of guy whose always there when you need him. Although Shen Ruoxin shined on her own, Qi Xiao was always there to support her in times of crisis. But he also had his own goals to accomplish. And this character of Dylan's is my favourite one so far.

Yes, the age gap was supposed to be big. In this drama, Dylan's character is like a kid in terms of age, but very mature actually. It makes sense because Qi Xiao's father died when he was six and was raised by a single mother with whom he's very close. And in the drama, the age gap is 12 years and not 20.

Yes. Dylan's acting was very stiff in MTD, bc his character is like that. But if you see his other performances, then actuqlly he's usually a very expressive performer, like he delivered strong performances in MG and EN2, and was very natural in TRL. Hope he takes roles which don't make him expressionless.

True. This is more than just a romance series. In fact, the romantic part is more secondary in it. And the slow-burn romance is understandable for obvious reasons.

Yes! What a relief! And when I first watched it, I instantly got hooked on it, and binged 10 episodes in one day! And normally, I'm not a binge-watcher, so this is a very good sign! Completed it in around 4-5 days!
