If we go by the old format (2x 1 hour episodes per week), then yes. But if we use the new format, then it becomes 4x ~30 minute episodes per week. Some networks are adopting this new format so that they can air more ads in between sessions.
The ending for episode 7 was ridiculous. Honestly, the writing for this drama is subpar, and there are so many unlikable and infuriating characters, especially Mi Ran's ex-boyfriend. He's such a detestable jerk.
Guys does anyone know the name of the really cool EDM-y OST that plays in the background usually whenever they…
There's a good chance that it belongs to the drama's OST and hasn't been released yet. Typically, these instrumental OSTs are eventually released on Korean websites such as Genie Music. There are also some Youtube channels that upload them so you can keep an eye out for them. I just checked Genie Music, and there are currently no instrumental OSTs uploaded aside from the title songs. If I ever stumble across it, I'll share a link with you.
I'm really enjoying this drama and Yong Shik's animated personality. I notice Ha Neul often tends to place emphasis on words with that "kaa" noise. It now sticks out to me every time he does it.
As for the mystery aspect, there are too many suspects to consider. I feel like the suspect is someone who has been shown instead of an outsider. I have this suspicion because Yong Shik expressed his fear of Joker being someone ordinary that they know. That green lighter definitely looks familiar, but I can't remember where I saw it (if it even was shown in the first place, that is, and it's not my mind just making things up).
Additionally, Jong Ryul's starting to grind my gears with how he treats Dong Baek and Yong Shik, especially with how he snapped at the latter to back off since he's apparently more qualified to be with Dong Baek due to their long history and their child. I hope Young Shik continues to put Jong Ryul in his place.
And poor Ja Young who just wanted a drink, a friend to drink with, and know the truth behind the eye cream.
Can someone explain why they bought a tape for the window frames in that pension house (eps 1+2).
Please be warned that my comment is about a suicide method. I believe they planned to die by carbon monoxide poisoning. If I'm correct, when charcoal burns in an enclosed area, it produces a high amount of carbon monoxide which can be toxic if inhaled for a while. Therefore, the masking tape was to seal the room so the charcoal could be burned.
I am the only one who is watching for the revenge and don’t care that much about the romance tag? I hope Jenny…
While I enjoy the revenge aspect of this drama, I don't mind the romance. I agree that Jenny will most likely not reciprocate Sun Woo's feelings as she seems to be the type who prioritizes her revenge mission over romance. I also think Hyun Ji exists to be Sun Woo's love interest. The moments when Hyun Ji's aunt (?) pesters her to find a partner seem to be hinting that Sun Woo will be her love interest.
Anyone watching Kim Jae-young in "Secret Boutique"?
I am. It's hard to say from the little screen time he had in the first episodes, but his role feels slightly different than the one in Secret Boutique. In this drama, he seems a little grouchy yet warm whereas in Secret Boutique, he's stoic, cold, and professional.
I was also initially confused by the mother's actions because she just made the situation more complicated and…
Haha, yeah. Chung Ah's parents are quite something. Her father's lazy and downright rude. I was stunned when he stated that his wife should know why Chung Ah wanting to attempt suicide since she's the mother. The logic doesn't work here because he's also Chung Ah's parent, and he should be fulfilling his role as a father. Instead, he treats his daughter awfully and has the audacity to slap her despite knowing that she almost attempted suicide. As a father, he should be understanding and compassionate and be willing to shower his daughter with affection. I don't understand what he has against Chung Ah, but I hope he has a redeeming arc later in the story because he doesn't deserve her.
The mother is slightly better in terms of parenting. At least she loves Chung Ah, but a little too much that she would obscure the truth and worsen the situation. She's quite daft, thinking that she can hide the evidence like that and reconstruct the story to become an accident.
Sorry about the rant. These parents have me pulling at my hair in frustration. I still like the drama, but the father and mother are despicable and imprudent, respectively.
So far, it's hilarious, and the chemistry between the two is undeniable. I can't imagine anyone else playing as Nok Du other than Dong Yoon. His appearance, speech, and mannerisms are perfect. He fits the role so well.
Why would the mom turned the suicide into accident? She isnt guilty for his suicidal act at all. She could just…
I was also initially confused by the mother's actions because she just made the situation more complicated and worse than it had to be. However, she explained to her husband that she didn't want her daughter to be labeled as someone who assisted in suicide. I think she wanted to avoid rumors about her daughter since suicide is a heavy topic. "Accident" seemed to be a better choice than "suicide assist" in her view.
In addition, the mother didn't want to let the deceased boy's mother learn about the suicide. I think she didn't want to cause more stress and sorrow for the other mother (which, in my opinion, isn't her call to make at all), so she felt more motivated to make it look like an accident.
It's laying a foundation. They maybe trying to move the younger characters out of the story so they don't tie…
Thanks for your insight. I understand the episodes were focusing on the background to introduce our main characters, but I felt like it was unnecessarily long. I wish they had trimmed the episodes.
First two episodes felt slow and over-the-top. I felt like it focused way too much on the flashbacks of the families. It's disappointing, but I hope the rest of the episodes are better. On the bright side, Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah are great.
Is this really 32 episodes? Netflix only has it listed as 17...
In the past, dramas were usually aired as two 1-hour episodes each week. Recently, some networks have adopted a new schedule where they air four ~30-minute episodes each week. As a result of this new method, dramas that were usually listed as 16 episodes are now 32 episodes. In this case, KBS2 lists this drama in the new style while Netflix retains the old, albeit I'm not sure why it's 17. In short, 32 thirty-minute episodes are equivalent to 16 one-hour episodes.
dal gun is supposed to be a martial arts experts plus he severed in army maybe he served in special forces.
Thank you for your insight. Now that you mention it, Dal Gun has experience with martial arts and most likely honed some of his skills from his time in the army.
I noticed your other comment above, and I wanted to explain that by "capable", I didn't necessarily mean only physical strength. I was referring to Hae Ri's overall expertise compared to Dal Gun. I felt that Dal Gun was usually swifter and had better reactions to abrupt situations whereas Hae Ri seemed to be caught off-guard most of the time. With the two side by side, I can't help but notice that Hae Ri just seems incompetent. I feel like the writers want to stress how "badass" Dal Gun is, but personally, I think it's going overboard.
I find it strange to see that Hae Ri is a NIS agent who is supposedly more equipped and adept than a civilian and yet a mere stuntman appears more capable and skilled than her. A part of me finds it humorous that Dal Gun is able to involve himself in lethal situations, perform all those risky actions and still emerge with minor injuries. I also find it absurd how easily Hae Ri revealed her job to Dal Gun. I suppose the writers wanted to push the plot forward and quickly make the two work together, but it just accents the lazy writing and plot holes. However, despite my gripes with these areas, and even if Suzy's acting feels unpolished at times, I still find the drama interesting and enjoyable to watch.
No one knows when it airs dec 31st is just the date the put when they dont know if it'll air in 2019 theyd do…
There's a good chance that this drama has been shelved. There hasn't been any information or updates since three years ago, and Seo Kang Joon recently accepted a project with Park Min Young which is set to air in early 2020, meaning that he doesn't have any other dramas airing in late 2019.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling that Something About Us also shares a similar fate as there have been no updates since early 2018. I hope I'm wrong, but it's been so many years with no movement for both dramas.
