Explain to me which part of her character is not silly? The term is 傻白甜. If international fans know what “Green tea” is in Chinese then certainly they know 傻白甜. Nearly all female lead in C drama world is this. Directors and novelist like to write females leads silly and it has gone viral in the c drama land. .

I think you are misunderstanding what I’m saying. LBDAF had a good storyline, and it was unexpected to be a hit because it’s played but newbies. If there were no expectations from the beginning then it’s more likely there are less criticisms. A lot of the xianxia dramas have gone down the hill. On the other hand we have experienced actors and actresses here so expectations for them will be much higher hence criticisms will be higher.

There are plenty of “stupid and naive” female characters in the Cdrama land. You must be new to C drama. How many years have we all been watching the “ Silly White Sugar” girls in Chinese dramas. It has become a term now. If you notice that a large number of female characters in dramas are a repeat of each other, so is Orchid. I honestly don’t see her character being any different from other female drama leads. as I said if u replace her by another girl it’s still works and I’m not asking her to kiss ass, you not understanding it properly. Just randomly pick another “Silly White sugar” girl who can do exactly the same as her. The only thing you can’t replace is the amount of funds she has inserted into the LBFAD drama. We know she’s super duper rich and she pretty much funded the drama herself. No wonder she got the role. It’s definitely good to be rich in China!

Yes, reminds me of that as well, but with more experienced and quality leads. The female character of LBFAD could have been replaced by anyone as she plays the same old silly Billy naive girl.

Yes I noticed a significant slow down. They could have squashed all this dream into 2 episodes. Since they started dreaming, I kinda lost interest. No longer excited when the episodes are uploaded.

The pace of the drama is extremely slow now, I wonder what has gotten into the minds of these scriptwriters and director. Why do we need to see so much episodes of this dream arc. Even people talk and walk so slowly….it’s getting boring.

Agree, the drama has slowed down a mega times since the arc has started. Couldn’t they have just cut a lot of these out, I’m yawning and skipping. We already don’t have 2nd season now, so they could have just cut all the crap. The jealousy and the triangle love, it’s no good. It’s not different from the other crappy xian xia dramas. Just make it much shorter and shoot through them all.

Agree xianxia drama quality has gone down the hill in the recent years. Storylines are nothing but copy of each other. Newbies are being promoted to due to budgeting reasons and companies wanting to promote fresh blood, but these people don’t act well. They will be a long way until their acting improves. So will have to wait for that to come.

He’s suppose to be pale, thin and fragile for the role. Must be water armies doing their work again. The drama is great! It’s better than a lot of other xianxia dramas recently.

Actually I’ve always felt that politics were involved this this case…and Kris Wu’s case was an example of how foreigners in China could be treated. Plus there was a time when china was cracking down on dual nationality stars.

Strange why China nailed so hard on this guy, we know there’s more darkness in the entertainment industry… not that he doesn’t deserve punishment, but there is more going on inside where clean up definitely needed. Plenty of dirty companies need wiped out.
