Obviously it seems like other viewers enjoyed this drama more than you. It’s not a good series but I wouldn’t call it shit either. I do agree that many more good drama have lower ratings than this series on this platform, my favourite drama Mr Fighting starring Deng Lun and Sandra Ma got such low rating here but received critical acclaimed elsewhere. Need to just not take the ratings too seriously I reckon.

I came across this drama by chance and at first I didn’t really want to watch it but got curious because of the negative comments regarding the age gap between the main leads so just have to check it out. It was not the best drama but I like the acting of the main leads, also the plot and pacing weren’t too bad either. As for the negative comments regarding the kissing and physical contact scenes between the FL and ML because he is much younger than her, in my opinion the ML is not a kid or a minor anymore as in some countries such as Scotland, Wales, Australia and more 16 yrs old is legally adults and are allowed to vote. Also the legally consent age in most countries is 16 and some countries such as Japan, Germany or some Scandinavian countries the consent age is lower i.e 13, 14 and 15 respectively. The age gap between the leads might not sit right by some viewers when it comes to kissing or physical contact scenes. However these scenes weren’t too explicit or inappropriate despite the age gap.

This is the first time I’ve seen Cao Yu Chen acting in a drama and I’m totally impressed. His portrayal of Bo Yan/ Chu Ye the powerful, arrogant but graceful deity is so spot on - I can feel the calmness and aloofness of Boyan at the beginning and then slowly turning into the gentle and passionate lover Chu Ye. I adore the way he gazed lovingly at the FL and the tenderness when he was looking at her granny. Love to see him as a lead in another drama soon.

I agreed with comments regarding the storyline tumbling downhill in the second half. The first half of the drama was quite interesting then it became draggy and boring after that. Also I find the FL annoying, irresponsible and impulsive rather than intelligent and brave. Jeremy’s portrayal of Liang Yi, his charisma plus his beautiful voice was the only reason I didn’t drop the drama at that point. However, in the end I didn’t even manage to finish it.

All of his financial aspects were managed by his agency/ manager. Actors/actresses are rarely taking care of their own finance especially someone as busy as Deng Lun. I don’t believe that he would personally ignored the warnings! Again you seemed to misunderstand the fundamental point that I made!

If you read my post carefully you would realise that I didn’t say that he was innocent and should not be punished by paying back the rest of the tax owed and the fines incurred! I was talking about being cancelled and not allowing to act again.

There were some celebrities in China who were caught evading taxes previously but they were only been exposed and fined heavily. Deng Lun however was unjustly punished by being cancelled! The punishment doesn’t fit the crime committed, I feel that he has been targeted and made example of for whatever reasons we will never really know. Hope he stays strong and not losing his will to fight his way back to do what he loves most - acting!

Do you know for a fact that he’s had plastic surgeries or just speculation?!

I enjoyed this drama up until ep30 before she was returning to Shanghai but from ep 32 onwards it has became too boring with too many revenge plots hatched by both FL and Meng Xu’an . The FL’s attitude towards the ML is too cold and unreasonable despite being fully aware that the loss of her family has nothing to do with the ML. In contrary the ML has been trying his best to rectify all the wrong-doings committed by his dad and to compensate the victims of his father’s murderous crimes. In essence the ML is the innocent victim of the circumstances who has tried his best to protect his beloved woman and his family without any desire for status or power. TBH I’m rather disappointed with the last 10 eps of the drama.

Watched 16 eps and so far really enjoyed this series. The chemistry between the ML and FL is great and they look beautiful together. The acting of the main characters is quite convincing and the settings and costumes are pleasing to the eyes. The storyline was quite logical and there wasn’t too many potholes though I hope it will not become draggy as there’s still 24 episodes to go.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. In my opinion I think the ML is quite good looking and he portrayed his character well with depth of expressions. Also no one in this drama is scary looking to be honest. Most importantly, people come here mainly to exchange and sharing their opinions of drama/movies and not to comment on actress/actors’ appearance.

I’m at ep30 and thinking about dropping it. I really enjoyed the first 20 episodes but got bored with the storyline thereafter as it seems to drag. I like Joseph’s acting, he’s very natural and convincing though JJY’s portrayal of her character is underwhelming and rather one dimensional in my opinion.

The storyline from the start of the drama was quite interesting and gripping. However after around episode 5 it went downhill filled with unnecessary and boring dialogue from uninteresting characters. The last few episodes were dead boring and it took me over a week to finish them.

I only responded to the point you made about “incest” and nothing else. I respect everyone’s point of views regarding their likes or dislikes of the drama. Furthermore, I didn’t rate this drama highly myself and only gave it 5.5/10.

Incest means when one has an intimate relationship with one’s own family members which she has not. She was in love with the ML and not her own brother! Or if the ML and his bro has an intimate relationship with each other then that’s incest.

Have to say that first the 10 eps was pretty light and funny but it got too messy,, illogical, confusing, senseless and boring after that.
