He’s good in war strategies but when it comes to the matter of family it’s a different story. He loves his mother but he also questioned her when he learned that she had committed wrongdoings also he’s too trusting and too naive to believe that his brother would plan to harm him. There’s a difference between trusting your brother and mother and war strategies, they are two separate issues.

People have flaws which is understandable and forgivable but to intentionally committing wrongdoingS or killings then it becomes somethings totally different which cannot be overlooked or being excused. Run Yu is one of those characters which consciously making his own decisions to manipulate and harm people for his own gains. We are talking about a character and not the actor here, I would like to stress.

I watched Eternal Love first and like it especially Mark Chao but I like AOL better as I think it has a better storyline though I don’t go to downvoting it on their page. Quite strange for fans to be so competitive to that extent

I watched Ten Miles first and quite like it as Mark was very good as Ye Hao though I prefer Ashes of Love as a whole. I’m on ep10 for love and destiny but it was too slow for my liking.

I use the fast forward button a lot from ep 15 onwards, now on ep48 and the storyline has not improved. I’m going to drop it now....

I personally find this series so boring as there’s not much going on with the storyline except the FL got beaten up and crying and the ML was constantly being put down and punished by his dad and he did cry a lot too. I used fast forward button quite a lot from ep 15 onwards. I’m at ep48 and dropping it!

In Viki it got 9.7 and I think it should at least got a 9 but people just came here to give 1 or 2 out of spite

The ending is good, I really enjoyed thE last 4 episodes and cried a bit as well

I quite enjoy it though at time the storyline is somewhat over the top, Deng Lun acting is first class which makes this series much more enjoyable :)

Despite having a low rating on this website, AOLis an excellent drama and my favourite together with Nirvana in Fire. Deng Lun portrayal of Xu Feng the God of War is majestic and elegant. The epic love story between Phoenix/Xufeng and Jin Mi is unparalleled and I love the immense chemistry between them. I have never falling head over heal with any character in any drama before but Xu Feng’s undying love for Jin Mi, his loyalty and love for his family including his brother and friends has won me over. Xu Feng is an upright, honest and kind being who would sacrifice his life to keep his loved ones safe. Deng Lun is one of the most talented actor of his generation. Hope to see more of him in another period drama like AOL and I can’t wait to see his new movie where he is co starred with Mark Chao who is another great actor soon.

Deng Lun is such a talented actor and his portrayal of Lang Yue Xuan is mesmerisingly excellent. He brings the character to life making you feel so involved in his story. His acting is so natural and genuine, he makes you feel as if he is the real Young Master Lang Yue Xuan and not acting his role. I watched and finished the series without eng sub and really enjoyed the last 4 episodes though I don’t understand Chinese but able to follow the storyline but will watching it again when the eng sub is available. Deng Lun makes this series much more enjoyable with his intensely charming and charismatic presence and the way he expresses his emotions through his eyes and his beautiful warm passionate voice. Really looking forward to the future work of this awesome actor!

I personally can’t see any similarity at all and I read it twice!

I’m at ep 38 and still enjoy seeing Deng Lun’s great portrayal as Lang Yue Xuan. The storyline at times is over the top and boring but the scenes when Deng Lun appears are great, he lights up the screen with his performance making this drama more enjoyable. Will continue to watch until the end and hopefully storyline would get better...
