Ok episode 5.. I am glad the 2 main bullies are gone. Now i am open to storylines where she starts to adjust more and works in a team. (Although i dont think her ability to work in a team was ever an issue) And before you just had the two people who were fabricating the research results and harassed FL because she was onto them. I refuse to see any fault in FL's behaviour there. Nothing would have changed just because she was a little friendlier during coffee break. I have hopes for the other project leader. He seems to genuinely be in it for the science and not petty office politics. He better not disappoint me. I think he and FL could make a good team later on.
Start this drama with an expectation of watching a thrilling spy drama (and for Luo Yunxi) but after 5 eps, it…
Hard agree. I like the setting in the research lab. Well.. at least on paper. But like you said this is more of a office bullying and gossiping drama. And it feels a little too over the top and ridiculous to really relate. But i enjoy the gloomy atmosphere. I am just watching for those little moments while i wait for the story to pick up. I completely skip the second couple.
Nothing but 30 and Dear Missy are two of my fave female centric, modern slice of life cdramas (aside from Ode…
Definitely check out Crossroad Bistro. I haven't watched Ode to Joy yet but it's high on my ptw. Do you have any other female centric, modern slice of life cdramas you can recommend? The mdl ratings are pretty useless for those.
Solid start! It doesnt have the aesthetic and poetic beauty like Nothing But Thirty or Dear Missy that i am always looking for in these modern slice of life cdramas. Crossroad Bistro seems to take that slot this season. But it is naturalistic enough to be immersive. As for the rest it's too early to say after just one episode.
I like how Xiao Yan the otherwise typical boss woman already starts out as a empathetic and supporting person. I already like the rivalrly between her and Chen Jiao Rui and i am looking forward to how it will turn into a friendship. And i have to say there is something captivating about the actress Wang Yuan Ke.
Oooof i expected them to invest a little more for their first long tving original drama. This has quite the web drama aesthetics. The first two episodes have been rather mediocre. I just can't pretend to care too much about the used up tropes and backstories. I just want to get to the point where they really start working for her. Well the parts around Song Jihyo as the witch are fun and she is gorgeous. They give us just enough to keep me interested. I will give ep 3 a shot because i want to know how their dynamic plays out. At that point i am already almost half way in so i might as well watch it all the way. Oh well.. haha :D
It’s my honest opinion, but I think Netflix backed kdramas are obviously high production and has movie like…
Netflix is not backing those dramas to aim for western audiences. I dont know why everyone has that misconception. It is to expand on the asian market.
I don't know if you have seen it already but I found 'The Rational Life' quite nice.
Thanks! I actually watched the first two eps yesterday. Aesthetically i was a little disappointed. And the drama falls into more drama trappings than i'd like. I prefer more naturalistic slice of life. But i like the leads. I will keep watching for now.
I’m having serious withdrawals from this show. I don’t usually like modern C-Dramas because they’re often…
Oh really? Afaik there are quite a lot of those modern slice of life/ work cdramas. Aren't those kinda the trend right now? It's pretty much the only cdrama genre i watch^^ Nothing But Thirty, Dear Missy, Find Yourself, Love Yourself are the ones i've seen but there are a lot more. I highly rec the first two. They stick out, also aesthetically. (They are more focused on the sismance than romance tho)
Dang, I was really looking forward to this airing today, but alas... If it's for quality purposes or just to keep…
I am not sure if Shim Eun Woo is going to be in it. Her controversy is probably responsible for the delay. I know from Oh Yoon Ah that they already filmed last year. I think she even finished her parts. I assume they are doing a lot of reshoots.
