I love this drama but the pacing is a bit difficult to get through. I personally like to wait till dramas are complete and I spend a nice day or two watching the whole deal. It is difficult with this one.
But the cinematography and the overall feeling this drama gives is too lovely and soothing to give up on.
Doesn’t Minwoo represent the portion of society with unfair prejudices against the Youngwoos? He doesn’t need…
Bless you for pointing this out.
I really don’t get his mindset. The second WYW and others around him occasionally get some privilege or successfully completes a task he categorises it under some unfair practice. It is because they cheated, or nepotism, or because they were born privileged or because they never knew pain or troubles. Everyone has problems. Sure he has struggles, but others’ problems and hard work count as well. Ok, WYW might have got in through nepotism, but she tried so hard by herself and never supported the idea, only worked harder to earn her place. Imagine how hard life was for her and her father with the Autism and other problems they had. Even SY, she rarely brings up her father’s identity, it is obvious she wants to do well for herself. All of them do. It is unfair of him to undermine their efforts.
Can someone tell me if this is the kind of drama, where the guy who thinks he’s gay because he’s falling in…
It is not. There is a character like that, but it is not the ML. He mostly starts noticing her only after he realises her identity.
And to be honest even with the character who had an issue with it, although dated, they handled his conflict quite well. Not the overdramatic and warped way some other dramas use. I think the relief part is mentioned only once and in passing. They mostly went with the theme of disappointment and the mental toll it took on that character. Still a bit dated. But not utterly unbearable.
But it's so sad that she died in such a very very young age :( .. I wonder why she needs to suicide? Is the life…
I’m not trying to glorify suicide here, but it is a very difficult decision for the people who take that path. No one but them can understand their situation. It is great that you love and appreciate your life to never consider it an option. I myself think of it as an impossible choice in my own life. But we cannot know what she was going through. There are a lot of stories and secrets in a person’s life. A lot of pain that the outside world cannot see. No two people have the exact same life and experience no matter how much you sympathise or empathise with them.
The only thing I truly feel was wrong was the fact that she didn’t get help, therapy or something, or someone to help her through it. I wish someone had seen the signs and helped her see the worth of life again. It is what I hope for all people with such thoughts. After all every life is precious. As with Sully, all I feel is sorrow that a beautiful light was taken from this world.
really? considering the train-wreck that was 13 & 14, it's still your favorite drama???I find that hard to believe.
Just a bit of positivity to go the extra mile I suppose. And there is nothing wrong with cynicism. How else will the world stay balanced? We need a bit of both. ;)
P.S. If you ever go down a few comments and see my name, you will probably see me bash the writers over some of the things I found ridiculous in the last few episodes. Still my favourite at the moment.

True that. We will have to just wait and see won’t we? After all we start watching dramas for their stories and entertainment value. Whether they live up to it or not depends on the whole package. And it if turns out bad, and I did mention some discomfort while watching recent episodes, some sort of disconnect. Of course my own ratings will drop.
I just like to stay positive till the end. After that well, I might dish out my views good or bad. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t really disagree with what you said (as a matter of fact, you might find some of my complaints below). I did notice all you mentioned too. Just giving it a last chance to redeem itself. If not, well, onto the next! And to be honest, I REALLY appreciate them trying to respect certain characters and their issues because it is important to me from a real life perspective. And so till it ends, it will be my current favourite not my all time or future, but of the dramas I’m watching now. Another week and we shall see.

It is just two episodes. I liked the ones before, maybe I will like the ones after?
Also it is just a nice and refreshing idea, the one behind the drama’s plot. So unique in its own way, there no harm hoping it ends well and brings in opportunities for a lot of wonderful dramas with similar plot lines.
Both girls crushing on min woo makes my skin crawl! Especially soo yeon who knows how much of a douche he is!…
The fact that two sweet, kind, intelligent girls who are both amazing friends to WYW have fallen for that guy who looks down on everyone simply because they seem better off than him. Honestly his logic makes me mad a lot of times. I get where his resentment comes from, but then even the most privileged people have their own struggles. He resents WYW, over her intellect and now even because of her mother. Somehow she had it easy in his head. I don’t understand how that works. Everyone has their own issues. Imagine the life of an autistic girl raised by a single parent in a middle class household achieving so much at her age. All people have their own issues. It is right that some lives seem more unfair than others, brooding and scheming does not help. Maybe put some effort into doing better, earning the respect of others and when he becomes successful how much better would it be to have good solid friends and contacts from his life’s work?
I literally felt that WYW should have told JH about why she’s breaking up. And she is so straightforward. Damn…
Honestly that cancer thing came out of nowhere. I see absolutely no point in it. They could have had a same result with an ulcer or even appendicitis or something like that.
Apart from Young Woo breaks her character, also the way Joon Ho reacts is a bit childish. Whining and getting…
I think both their reactions are legit. YW is upset, but she had shown several times that she can put aside her own emotions and that of others close to her when she wants to, like when it comes to her father and friends. She also is still clearly perceptive as she too understands the awkwardness and overall uncomfortable situation she has put herself and JH in. As for JH, well his quitting on their “relationship” so fast was uncharacteristic, as he seemed to understand her motivations better. But then the dude is allowed to feel upset every now and then, he obviously does not have the mental block I mentioned WY has.
Hands down my current favourite drama. Gosh everything so far seems to be going smoothly with just a slow progression into something bad. I’m starting to get worried.
Only two more episodes, something might happen soon. I have also been feeling just a little uncomfortable the last few episodes. I don’t know why, just some things moved faster than they needed to.
I just hope I don’t have to see these characters upset. I get so sad when most of them are sad.
The first few episodes are quite boring IMO, body swap in first episode was just for a while… but it’s normally…
I get what you mean… a lot of C-dramas do need a few episodes to warm up. Thank you for sharing your views! I will check it out after a few more episodes.
An unexpectedly sweet drama with a male lead who is surprisingly endearing although he came across as a little…
Honestly I didn’t feel much for the leads, they were cute, but I would have been perfectly happy had they not ended up together. From the get go, he seemed more invested in her than her in him.
And she is a solid character, but together they just seemed like the the leads of completely different stories who were better of being the second leads in each other’s story. The sisters were cute and their stories beautiful.
I was initially doubtful when the second sister stayed with the husband who was obviously having a crisis regarding his sexual identity. It felt like they were going to force them to stay together or glaze over his emotions with his claim of not being like the chef. But then when it came out that she just stayed as a friend and supporter, essentially a shoulder in a lonely world, when he was having a difficult time, it was nice and I liked how they separated once he was ready to accept himself. She always seemed the most childish of the siblings, but it was a surprisingly bold and mature move on her part. It might have been difficult for them, the three years he spent accepting himself and her knowing their marriage is essentially over, and it was only a matter of time before he left, while still supporting him.
An unexpectedly sweet drama with a male lead who is surprisingly endearing although he came across as a little creepy initially. I wasn’t too fond of the leads, but didn’t mind it too much either. The male lead redeemed himself in many ways.
So true. No hate to her. But the character in this drama/sitcom was like a grand dish but with zero seasoning. In the end it was so bland I just wanted to send it back to the chef.
It could also be because the rest of the cast added a lot of personality to their roles. I really liked it except her role, which is sad, because she is a decent actor.
So in the end she wasn't really her biological mother, but I wish they had a backstory for who her mother truly…
I don’t think her mother was seen as a good person or they didn’t want to bring it up as it was a grey zone. Her “father” had problems with her “grandfather” as he believed the mistress was the reason his mother died. They mention it a couple of times. She couldn’t handle the torment of her husband cheating apparently, that too when they didn’t even know the “grandfather” had an illegitimate child with the mistress.
That kind of logic would contradict Soek Hee’s stand regarding her “father” having a mistress and causing her “mother” pain. Because by that logic she too was the child of a mistress who caused problems in the marriage of the “grandfather” and according to some even caused the death of his legal wife.
Her real mom is the grandfather’s mistress. Although they don’t mention her name, it is hinted a few times that the grandmother (his actual wife) died because of his affair.
Knowing FengXi, she will probably return to the court after ... well yeah :( I want to know if they had children…
Oh me too. It just sounds awfully sad otherwise. No family, and him like that and all alone. One of the other reasons I didn’t like how they left. Feels like she is going to be awfully lonely and her people seem to really love and care for her. Well atleast they get to spend some time together.
In most other dramas, after killing the male leads they sort of have something to the FL to fight for and live for, even if it is for themselves. I know she is a warrior and will probably be back to helping people, but it seems so much lonelier than it used to be for her.

Is it good? Also I hope the body swap does not last too long… that gets boring after a point.
