No point putting constructive criticism here. It won't reach the screenwriter. Go look for them and put forward your opinions to them directly.
It's easy to criticise one's work when it is done not the one writing it. We do not know what was edited or censored out in the final cut nor what happened behind the production work or what constraints were they under or direction given to write on etc. Even a perfect screenwriter cannot write a perfect script.

Why would they be put on guard 24/7 hours. It's a big household and each of them have their own house within the manor. They are not miltary so no one guards the gate. They probably went out via the servants gate/backgate. The mom I think bribed one of the main maid in the manor so that Shiyi n maid can go out during that time.
In any case, why are you continuously finding plot holes and faults with this drama and ruining other viewers enjoyment?
If you aren't happy with all these plot holes, write to the director or producers or script writer and teach them how to write a good script and how to direct a good drama without plot holes. I'm very sure they will be very enlighten to receive your good input and further improve upon themselves in their next drama.

In any case, i enjoy this drama so far as it is. I don't want to watch a drama and dissect every detail of it with my brain and ruin it. I just appreciate the actors, director and production work. If they go into details like in the book, it won't be a 45 episodes. It will be longer and production costs go up. As someone said, they have changed the script and is not exactly same as in novel since new characters were introduced and roles changed. So no point trying to compare an apple and an orange.

Remember they sneaked out. So nobody knows she is from Luo household. And also she just came back to the manor recently only after living in another city for 3 years. So nobody recognize or know she is the daughter of Luo manor.

The Nanny took the good rice n sold off to pay off her husband/family debt. The nanny didn't think she will be caught and thought giving out spoilt rice will not kill anyone. She just switched out the 1st batch for money. These bad rice were provided by the Ou family to the Nanny via 3rd party. They even purposely tripped the carriage carrying the good rice from Qiao manor. The rice scandal was all schemed by the Ou family knowing that Xu family is going to give out porridge to the poor. They even threatened the beggars to instigate n evoke unrest at the distribution place.
The Ou family framed the old Marquis and brother for fraud (the scene where Stone Wall kept dreaming and remembering the scene where the soldiers came into the manor when they were mourning to arrest everyone). I think Father and brother were executed for fraud.
The maid offered to go look for it but the Mdm insisted on going by herself to look for it as it was nearby. This is called "when her time is up or date to die that day, she has to die no matter what" or else there's no romantic story of our Stone Wall and his Cheeky young wife for us to swoon n slow burn with them. Hahahaha
The MIL is still the head and iron fist of the family. What she says goes. Even if Qiao came in as concubine, she is the favoured niece of MIL. So regardless of concubine status, MIL is still values her above other concubines as well as Shiyi as Shiyi is still a concubine daughter even if she is still legal wife. During that era, she will still be looked down upon and belittle due to her being concubine daughter status.
Shiyi was given the opportunity to take over the household account from Qiao upon marriage but she declined as her priority is to find the killer and is not interested in power struggles over who takes charge of household account. As she declined saying that Qiao is more capable than her to be in charge of it as she has been doing a good job for over a year. The Matriarch then decided that Qiao should continue to be in charge. Shiyi declined also because she saw that both the Matriarch and Qiao didn't want her to be in charge of the House account so she didn't want to be pulled into the political fight. By not being in charge of the household account, she has more time to go find the fabric and gather evidence.
It is likely that Shiyi sent someone to let HouYe know of the situation or HouYe has someone in the household to keep him informed while he is away. All these details are not likely to be shown as it means filming it and more scenes are added or perhaps these scenes were edited out during the final cut.
