Episode 12 was really good in terms of character development and little things in regards to the plot / sentience of who should become aware of whats going on. And, how she is starting to realize it's hard to make a firm understanding of NH.
Oh. I died when the whole money for a lantern scene happened. It poked fun at a little old woman giving the couple a latern, saying something cute and them skipping away.
But he has no money, the woman absolutely dogpiles on him how he should carry money, she's been selling lanterns for 60 years or whatever, and that "here you go, have a free lantern, but you sir get the shitty beedy eye lantern" (that looks like it was drunkenly made).
So it means she has a minimal perceptive and not in the bigger picture? Because she has pre existing belief that…
Precisely. If she had all the knowledge it wouldn't be as fun. She's banking on what she remembers and or what other people said. Which ain't a lot. She's a fairly new actress in the plot of the show so I think she just was like "I'll figure it out later".
Some c-netz came up with a wild theory; check it out: https://x.com/bigsislilred/status/1939036373689761962?s=46&t=zqI38SPvJuccjplZiNI69Q
I love this idea! Its like the movie Last Action Hero! In that film the kid has a magic ticket that allows him to go into movies but when the villains get ahold of it they can pop out of the film.
That would be fun tho that all these characters all of a sudden went rogue, found their way out of the script and are looking for her because she was a character too, or, she traveled into the script, lost her memories of her time in the script and they're looking for her.
i truly feel like li yi tong and liu yuning both deserve awards for their performances in this. their mannerisms…
The micro aggressions and the facial commentary they're giving on stuff is slaying me. LYN does really well with this type of role. Who knows, he might have been looking for a role where he can be funny and a dashing lead at the same time.
Yes, I think it's almost certain that she only closely read the scenes that she was in so, even though she does…
Exactly. I don't know why this show is so difficult for people to grasp. Like, does everything need to have an obvious plot line for someone to enjoy it? Esp. a comedy like this. I don't want to expect what is coming or the jokes are dead on arrival.
There seem to be a butterfly floating around in one of the episodes today, so I’m wondering if that butterfly…
Yeah the movie was inspired by the idea. Basically time travel movies or movies that focus on something being changed that the audience or plot already knows of is influenced by the butterfly effect notion.

I think the butterfly is a nod to the idea of the butterfly effect. There is a science fiction story I read in HS when a group of time travelers go back in time. They have to stay on the path designated by the company. One person gets cocky, steps off the path, gets chased by a dinosaur. They make it back to the time machine and arrive back in the future. They discover that because someone crushed a butterfly the death of that butterfly made x y and z not happen and therefore has created an alt. timeline in which is bad for the characters. The story ends as a warning to be careful about any insignificant thing changed could create problems.
I think the script has a path it has to follow and when someone changes it it sends the butterfly to create the alt. timeline / path.
The author who wrote the screenplay may be a science fiction nerd and might be paying tribute to that idea.
Okay. I don't think the FL actually read the entire script. My headcanon is she skimmed it for her parts only and got annoyed seeing what was done to her character. So, that's why she hardly knows what is happening. Also, think of it as a rpg game: we are meta gaming because we know what the other characters are doing and projecting our "nopes" and "no ways". But she, the actress/character has no idea except what she focused on in her script, so she is going with just that backing her. Of course she'll dislike NH and think the worst of him, and yeah, he tried offing her, but if they are created to be one way all it takes is a little rogue thought or a butterfly effect to change the narrative.
Some of you all want instant gratification instead of letting a story play out. This is a comedy / parody. This has some Princess Bride vibes at times, also mixed with Mel Brooks.
Currently on Ep11. Knowing I got five episodes left is nice. Can't wait to see if he gets to keep the scholars body or if he gets his own. Imo, she loves him for him so I hope he gets his own body back. Props to the actor for playing a multilayered role.
I think the FL and ML have chemistry, she is just very serious in her duties but their moments of personal time she looks sweet gazing up at him.
A really good start but I hope it won't get draggy with unnecessary plot line and jokes. The comedy it's so good…
I think that once they introduced all the characters and their current mindsets and what not we're moving into plot territory. But it seems like no one really knows the plot all that well (FL just admitted that she skimmed the script) and we were only shown bits from her skimming.
What if the actor (Nan Feng)also living in the same dream as FL?? From the scene where they finished the script…
I think this too. Hear me out, what if they both got high in their own apartments and got transported into this script? She can hear the click click of the keyboard and so can he? Nobody else gets that, so he has to be the actor as well.

Honestly. I need a good enemies to lovers show.
