Episode 16 - The actress who plays the mother is amazing. I mean, full stop. She is just too, too good. CDL and her really act like daughter and mother. It's also really great to see a mother who has deep angst but love for her daughter and is not just trope-y.
But holy geeze, she just had to say 'I don't believe in love for love'. I mean, YES of course she doesn't, but at the same time deep down she wants someone to love her. Watching FYX scare away all her suitors, her getting her hopes up for him to say he has feelings for her... only to hear him go 'Yeah, I saw you as a pawn to own because that's what you legit told to me' had her reeling. She really hoped that he would say something romantic and then perhaps the two of them together could breach the idea of them giving the finger to her enemies. Now we have to find out if FYX secretly knows and wants her to get the feel of being loved, or he truly sees this marriage as a marriage of convenience.

Yes! I love that he has his secrets, and yes he does use her, but he truly cares about her. I think deep down he always wondered about the girl he was to marry and then, seeing her for the first time and realizing she is no simple empty headed lady, he is like, this is the woman who I am meant to be with and who can raise my child.
