What I really like about the show is how their relationship is like 'okay, I doubt you like me, and I don't doubt I like you, what do you need / how can I help you' and just subconsciously drifting towards one another. I like more fantasy relationships that have green flag guys.
I'm thinking the 99% is hindering from 100% either because of a kiss or his realization on who he is / his purpose and once it hits 100% then everything is like a magical spell and goes back to normal.
Why is my cinnamon roll YingLei always left behind to hold the forte he can’t hold? ðŸ˜ðŸ¤£ I realized despite…
YingLei is like that dog that always does good and is just always loyal and wants to be acknowledged. I mean, yeah they love him, but I swear he just wants just one pat, one acknowledgement. His bestie is in a mind box right now.
I love this show so much. So, so much. I want them to be in another show together again because of how well they act with one another. Hell, keep giving the director blank cheques.
We have a character who is for all intents and purposes the 'pure' or 'chosen one'. Their fear is themselves,…
LOL - that too. He's probably gonna go sulk in his room now like an emo child and listen to some Linkin Park or whatever the kids listen to these days.
Also someone mentioned that the shape of the crescent spear looks a lot like a calligraphy pen, potentially hinting…
oooooo I like, which is probably why he was the chosen one?
I wonder if he based the character kind off his experience as a kid. He could have been some orphan who loved his sister, felt alone / sad because of his mom leaving him (or dying?) and and then with his sister getting a boyfriend and or her not being sibling-esque he got sad and wrote a story to cope.
Oh! Another thing about Ep25? (besides those that people have voiced) about the last 10 minutes being so strong:
We have a character who is for all intents and purposes the 'pure' or 'chosen one'. Their fear is themselves, and that is the worst fear to have. Pretend this isn't a show about demons, but someone depressed. Or, lets take it a step further - in every religious deity / savior story, someone tries to tempt the 'pure' or 'chosen one' to give in. The outcome is the pure or chosen one understanding that they cannot give in because to give in is the real demon. As long as there is a source of light, understanding, or love, they will continue on - demon or not. They can feel these emotions, experience them, but the moment they act upon them, or give in, that's when they become the true evil.
I love that this pissed off YL so hard because he is a bitter as fuck person that believes if he can't be happy, nobody can be happy. And he knew this and tried to tempt ZYC as Bai Ju - the last hail mary of attempts. And ZYC was like, yeah, no, still not falling for it. And then when his side-chick showed up with the umbrella, he got all moody and chose to sulk away in the rain.
AHHHH! I love that she used the two fingers / peace sign, and he is like wtf is this and then did it too but his was like demented rabbit ears like 'what are my fingers doing'. I'm curious if that photo ends up showing on shelf in her house or something of that nature.
Also, a couple episodes ago, there was a line he said where 'you'll help me edit the ending', and she agreed that she would (can't remember what it was in reference to) or something of that nature. I wonder if was foreshadowing that he was unhappy with the ending as well (of the story) and that with her being in this world too that her experience through it all will help he rewrite it and give it a better ending.
Sometimes, also wonder if the characters in this have some sort of real world persona like in Wizard of Oz.
Been under the weather and could only commit to one show, but now I'm better I marathon-ed from Ep18 - now. I love the twists and turns in this show, and I love that you can't predict where it's going. I like the mix of maturity, humor, and demon vs humanity. I like that though it's a fantasy, it doesn't... talk down to the viewers? like that it doesn't clearly explain things to them like a lot of fantasy shows do. It makes you feel like these are real characters with real problems amidst demons and such.
I say it again: the dudes need to keep showing their emotions and their love for one another in this and in future shows. That's another thing that makes this so real is that the director and the writers gave us guys that can emote well, and the actors do a fantastic job at expressing this. For some of them, this is their best work so far. I was already a fan of Neo, but here, he just absolutely showed he can be a multilayered character. IDK if he'll get a show with this kind of maturity again, but I hope he does. All the other newcomers or those that were used in MJTY? They're fantastic. I know they've become the director's new favorite gang to pull from (like Tim Burton does with Depp and co), but I don't care. They're great actors and might as well use them.
Lester is doing an amazing job as two different characters right now. I love that he got this role, because it's more than just a goofy kid. This kid has gone through a lot, but he is also growing up at the same time around others.
All in all, everyone has amazing chemistry with one another and I want more shows like this one in the future. I don't know we are gonna get in less than 10 episodes, but I love watching a show where all the dudes get along demonic and human, and the women are not against one another. If they wanted to do a modern day version of this show I'd be all over it.
So, my thoughts on CDL as WX. There has been a lot of dislike for her, and idk if it came from her role in TTEotM...
Gonna use a comparison, but she reminds me of Evelyn from The Mummy. She's the type of girl who is book-smart, bold, sometimes a bit of a damsel, but wants to save the world. I think no one else could play the role like CDL. You need to have someone who can capture that no-nonsense, book-smart, secret goddess, and can be cheeky at times. I love her in this role, and I think her talent at playing a variety of roles is amazing. It's great she has a role where she can play everything. I look forward her in other shows.
Idk i do like the chemistry between MY and LFY. Also, i love how caring, empathetic and a genuine seeker of truth…
I like the chemistry between them but their dialogue and agency is flat. He was more engaged in Love on a Cold Night imo. Maybe his real juicy bits are later.
I know MY and LFY are nonpc characters but holy fuck, they have no personality. At all. You would think that with the changes she is doing to the plot they would break out of their shells. :(
Poor YSZ, it's okay babe, you'll get your turn to shine someday.

Btw, are you watching Fangs of Fortune? That has the kind of deep diving / humanity vs demon stuff that you might enjoy.
"No, because it won't do shit, and I'm certain Bai-Ju would rather off himself than to see his idol go bad".
Li Lun: [surprised pikachu face]

Beautiful.

Ill wait it out more. I'm just wanting more because I like me my man.
Poor YSZ, it's okay babe, you'll get your turn to shine someday.
I am a sucker for Ryan, but you load up all my other men in this then I'm good to go. I think the story is adorables.
I am good, how are you?!?
