Correct. She wanted to die with the memories of love and happiness she shared with him. How absolutely cruel would it be, as like they said, for the posion to eat away at her body, and her memories start vanishing? She wanted those memories and she wanted to go. She had to do it. She was a strong woman.
After some mentioned the clip after the credits in the last episode, my thoughts on it:
I like to think he died and they met together again to watch the Borialis. I would have loved them to hold hands or something but it reminded me of Titanic and that she waited for him. So they do end up together, just after everything is said and done.
That leader was Fagin from Oliver Twist on evil juice. Grooming all those kids because his weak ass couldn't leave…
Right!? That slayed me. The wind opening the cape and that moment he wasn't looking but something in his gut was telling him to turn around. Gets me man.
