Finally, a real GL with a real scenario. And it's an office romance, it was quite risky so well done ! Ok I'm a BL addict but I was quite curious about GL. And from what I saw, I can say that they put more efforts than lots of stupid BLs so I'm quite happy to watch it. And in this 1rst episode, no evil bitch (except the bossy one hehe) and girls who help each other so yes, good point.
Hello, because he loves Pie from the start and Pie keeps hurting him (Pie believes it's a joke for Phet). So when…
No it's not just you. I don't really care about KimSun romance, I was happy to see the famous scene between Rain and Phayu but my favorite couple is PiePhet. I had to rewatch their scenes from the start in order to understand their dynamic, but I wish too they had more scenes together.
Hello, because he loves Pie from the start and Pie keeps hurting him (Pie believes it's a joke for Phet). So when…
I just thought about another explanation : Phet is hurt because he had to summon all his courage to kiss Pie (Pie didn't understood that because Phet never shows his feelings on his face). But when you deeply love someone, and this person just told you "you're not good enough for me" but kisses you just after that, that means your feelings doesn't count for this person : it's as if he's saying "hey, I don't love you but it's ok to kiss you for fun", so that's why Phet is hurt : ok if it's mutual, ok if they don't love each other, but if one is in love and not the other, it's cruel. If you are not in love you're not hurt and you don't cry for a kiss if it's a game. In fact Pie loves him too and he probably kissed him back for that reason but he didnt know until then that Phet loved him, so it's mostly a lack of understanding from both parts because Phet didn't understand neither that at THIS moment, Pie kissed him for real, and not to use him as an object or a substitute for Kim (we see that Pie is quite unsecure after that, he's afraid of Phet's reaction).
There was something I couldn't understand in episode 16Why does Phet start crying all of a sudden?
Hello, because he loves Pie from the start and Pie keeps hurting him (Pie believes it's a joke for Phet). So when Phet finally kisses Pie, Pie rejects him and tells him Phet is not "good enough" for him. Even if Pie kisses him back just after that, Phet now believes that Pie did that in order to "play" with his feelings , to test him again or to show him once again that it doesn't count for him, so Phet cries. Phet doesn't really show his feeling during the drama, he loves Pie but he's mostly ambiguous because he's afraid of Pie's feelings and he believes Pie doesn't care about him. So this "crying" scene takes place in order Pie finally sees Phet's true feelings. Now Pie understand that Phet loves him for real because this time, Phet couldn't hide his feelings (he wasn't sad when he saw Kim and Sun, only Pie can make him sad).
I really like your thinking. Makes sense to my brain. Isn’t it a shame the screenwriter/producer couldn’t…
Yes it's true, sometimes we have to make our own analyse to understand something ! The problem is when new actors without talent have to play some "ennemies to lovers" scenes, their acting is often bad, because they act "too much" so we see anger (for example) and not "anger because I'm sad and because I love you" so we don't really understand and their scenes seem awkward to us. On the contrary, a good example of good acting is the look in the shy guy's face in the drama Bad Buddy, many things can be seen in his eyes (fear, hope...) just before they kiss... So I think it's due to actors more than the script, but if the script isn't very good too, it can be a disaster. But on the other hand, even if the Pie/Phet couple should have begin sooner, the good thing is that we have a good pacing for the couples (not the 3 couples at the same time) and it's ok too ;-). And I saw some actors who disappointed me in their first show, becoming very good in their third show. So let's wait for that !
I really like your thinking. Makes sense to my brain. Isn’t it a shame the screenwriter/producer couldn’t…
Yes what a shame ! And thank you for your comment and sorry for my english (due to your comment, I remember we don't say scenarist but screenwriter ;-) )
Well, ok, this show is dumb. The story was quite stupid since the beginning but it was quite interesting and sweet too during 10 episodes. Then the love story changed for a boring thriller with looong and boring scenes in the safe house, we were waiting for the love stories to be developped but we lost time with this thriller plot and amnesia thing. (But at least, we had a sex scene between Rain and Payoo before that and that’s good !).
But I must confess I was very curious to see how they’ll manage to develop the third couple between Pie and Phet. And it would be my favorite couple (I love the « enemies to lovers » trope) if Pie was a better actor, unfortunately it’s not the case so we don’t understand anything about their dynamic. BUT : after their kissing scene, I rewatched all their scenes and dialogues between them from the start and I think I understand quite well now.
Phet is so in love with Pie, it’s very obvious from the start. His face isn’t very expressive, but his eyes are. He loves Pie and he hasn’t the courage to face it and to say it because he’s afraid of Pie’s reactions and feelings. So he’s ambiguous, and it pisses Pie off.
I don’t know if Pie is in love with Phet from the beginning, but he’s attracted to him for sure (and others saw very well that both of them are in the same « rythm » even when they practice fencing). But Pie doesn’t understand Phet’s behavior, he hopes to see some attraction from his part but Phet is always ambiguous, so Pie thinks Phet is joking about him or plays with his feelings because he hates Pie (that's false). So Pie always tries to hurt him, in order to test Phet’s feelings, and Phet does the same. That’s why they always ask each other « how do you feel ?» or « are you hurt ?» because they wait for clues about the other’s feelings.
Is Pie in love with Kim ? I don’t think so. There are few options 1) At the beginning he just wants Kim to enter their fencing club, but Phet is watching so Pie acts as if he is in love with Kim to hurt Phet or to test him, after that they are stuck in a toxic game pretending they are in love with Kim and Sun, or 2) Pie thinks he has zero chance to be with Phet so he tries with someone else or 3) the two options at the same time. Anyway, Kim perfectly understood their dynamic : he knows he has nothing to do in their story and that the 2 boys have something to « adjust » between them, that’s why Kim says that doesn’t concern him.
But the 1rst problem is the scenario. During their week-end on the beach (episode 10), we can see that Pie almost made a love confession to Phet. Phet says something like « I’m always waiting for you so a little more is not a problem », but he stays ambiguous because it could be about their love story, or the fact that he’s waiting for him about the key (for the hotel room). And Pie answers something like « If you’d say that from the bottom of your heart, there wouldn’t be a Kim ». And that’s the problem : their relationship should have begin at this moment, but the scenarists decided to continue their quarrel until episode 16. Second problem : the scenario had to be a sort of « hurt/comfort » situation, so when Phet kisses him, the dialog is stupid and Pie rejects Phet at first. He doesn’t show the same feeling during the first kisses, just because the scenarists wanted a « hurt / comfort » situation, they wanted Phet to be hurt, to show his true feelings and to cry. So that’s the reason of this stupid dialog (« your kiss means nothing, if you want me to notice you, you have to be brave » etc.), because the scenarists wanted Phet to cry.
Other problem : I was touched by Phet feelings, as I said before I think that his eyes are quite expressive, even if he doesn’t have many facial expressions, that’s why it’s obvious he’s in love with Pie and afraid at the same time. But Pie is a very, very bad actor. So this scene is half a good scene (because of Phet) and half a disaster (because of Pie’s acting and Pie’s dialog). This kind of strange relationship needs a lot of subtletly and Pie isn’t a subtle actor, so we don’t understand very well what he’s thinking and what he’s feeling during all the drama, if he’s really in love with Kim or if he’s just pretending in order to hurt and test Phet. But in the crying scene, he discovers Phet’s true feelings, now he knows that their feelings are mutual and he knows that it wasn’t a joke for Phet, that's why he's sweet and softer at this moment (and if we pay attention, we see that Pie is crying too). But Pie’s facial expressions aren’t good (bad actor), that’s why I needed to rewatch all their scenes from the beginning to understand their dynamic. And that’s why everybody think that their story is stupid = Pie’s bad acting, and the scenarists who wanted THIS crying situation takes place AT THIS MOMENT and not before, that’s all.
Anyway, I think they can both progress in acting, so the situation isn’t so desperate ! Their couple is my favorite (ok, the Rain/Payoo scene is very good but…) and despite the fact that they’re both stupid pretending they don’t love each other, it could have been a wonderful couple and a wonderful crying/kissing scene if Pie’s acting was better and if Pie’s dialog in this scene was better too. I saw this scene many times just to see Phet’s face, because he’s very touching (and very alluring) during these 3 minutes. Not for Pie, just for Phet.
is Rain alive? Please Jesus say he is. Other comments mentioned him dying?
Hello, watch the trailer just here on MyDramalist. We can see Rain fighting in the wood with another man with a gun... Conclusion : he's alive AND badass.
