Also people are saying FL is cruel, even NanHeng said when he was in LSL get up,that you are crueler than NH. DID…
Last line for real! It's like people are just skimming through and not at all seeing any wrong action of male lead and progress of FL. Yimeng even had to kneel infront of emperor and was about to get 20 lashes because of Nan Heng (it was his men doing the novel part but she didn't know!) people really watch just for and from male lead's point of view

We know that characters have changed but not her. She only noticed NH's mom gathering courage in one scene. Eventually all the key point scenes are happening. Script is forcing them to. Yimeng did say in ep 18, that nan heng may not want to kill her but that's the script and he will be forced to do so. Jist like she was forced in ep 17

I'm sorry to judge people but I feel like some viewers watch shows only for male lead. As long as female lead is treating ml well, she's nice. They refuse to see or understand fl's pov😩

Mdl users most loved term for fls probably is "annoying" I often see this term in comment section for fls of different dramas. Even when they are not😂

Same! I'm so liking the FL and the actress too. It's so nice too see a FL in historical drama who's just chilling despite doing her share in the story lol. She's neither too serious nor the childish. I'm not saying that I don't like such fls, but it nice to see a fun fl like Yimeng

Also, despite some changes, the iconic scenes are still happening. And that's what she's afraid of the most. She makes complete sense when she's trying to avoid Nan Heng. Are people not reading subs? Because writer is clarifying everything in detail. People are even refusing to see Yimeng's growth lol

After Yimeng's whole conversation with Nan Heng( Li Shiliu) in ep 18, I don't think anyone should be hating Yimeng for her actions. Such a good conversation, they gave us to show Yimeng's helpless situation and her conflict. Even her progress. She now says, she doesn't want to kill Nan Heng. She now understands that NH isn't just one dimensional villain. She even understands that he doesn't want to kill her. But she is also aware of script forcing characters to do things they're supposed to do. It's a 40 episodes drama. Why do people want everything to happen all at once,so that second half would be a drag? 😂 I mean I don't know how future eps will turned out to be but I'm satisfied with pacing and development for now.

I've only seen 10 episodes but it doesn't shock me that she still hates him. Why would she think differently?…
It's not about iconic scenes will happen or not, she will figure that out eventually. It's about her seeing him in bad light even now because how can she get over him trying to kill her multiple times? Hin saying he didn't kill any innocent person won't be believable to her at all. Now, she's getting to witness herself and that's why she's slowly and slowly changing her views. And if we're judging her progress with eps no. Then she's already changing her views for him. Within first half of story. Every story has their own main theme which lasts for eps. Here, it was her seeing Nan Heng as the original script Nan Heng.

Same. I love male lead too. But I can also see Female leads's pov. I feel bad for Nan Heng being misunderstood by Yimeng but I also can see where she's coming from. She is not baselessly hating on him just to be edgy. She has valid reasons

This exactly! There's difference between a badly written character and writer deliberately writing a flawed character. Yimeng is flawed a bit. But she's making slow progress. And it's so good to see

Ikr! Like go back and watch ep 1 again to see who Nan Heng is in original script. And this Nan Heng didn't help in Yimeng's prejudices by trying to kill her multiple times. She is alive right now only because of script rule. Also, her having prejudices against Nan Heng is actually her character trait, one may call it flaw. And her view for hin is slowly changing reasonably. But people hate when female leads have flaws or are against male leads for valid reasons
On A Dream within a Dream Jul 2, 2025
People didn't hate Nan Heng one bit for trying to kill Song Yimeng multiple times but are here hating on her because she hates the Nan Heng she read original script about. Also, the one who tried to kill her multiple times. People will always lose their patience when it comes to female leads. Male Leads however are allowed to do whatever they want and yet get loved by all lol. (I love both SYM and NH). I don't know about upcoming eps, but I have been enjoying this drama so far. I really like the writing specially for female lead, her still being in denial that NH can help her without any motive. That he's actually a nice guy. Her slow realisation and progress is really nice to see.

And I loved Hiroki -Makoto's styling as well. Suits their character. Individually and when they're together as well. Also, can jdramas learn, this is how you naturally do the skinship between leads in romance dramas. I love jdramas but yes, they need to do the skinship naturally.

Watched till 9 episodes and this gotta be my most favourite drama from spring season along with "spice" we so rarely get shows with such premise and those shows often fail to deliver the right way. I love how in kwy, Hiroki remains very suspicious till the very end. And his character is so interesting! Director did so well directing all the scenes and giving them such mysterious aura. Coming to Makoto, I don't get why are people annoyed at her. I love her character. Flawed and very self aware of her flaws. I also loved that she got called out by so many people. And she herself was very well aware that despite Hiroki being so suspicious, she's still with him and even trying to cover up for him. Like she said "I always trusted him but also always suspected him" loved it. I'm not saying deliberate blind love is Something interesting, but it was interesting here considering the premise and characters. Let's see who turns out to be the real killer.
