Still as obsessed with this movie. Even with some gap flaws, it was really that beautiful. Gave some of the most memorable and beautiful scenes! It wasn't flawless neither it was a masterpiece, but it was work of art. It was art. To depict a whole love story through the dance, was a risky decision and that definitely limited the number of audience but those who get it, they get it. The nuances get clearer the more you notice things. The dances, the soundtrack, acting, frames, sensuality, everything was so good. For me, there were more good points that just take over few flaws it had. Above all, this is not the kind of movie that we're gonna get easily even in future.
I wonder how the pairs will end up with who. Currently I'm getting the vibe Kaoru x Ryuma & Mamie x Sasaki…
It seems so from the preview for ep 5. I actually wanted Mamie×Ryuma at first but tbh I think I'm really liking Mamie×Sasaki progress and they look good together so...
I LOVED THIS BEAUTIFUL DRAMA. And I'm going to miss it. The comfort and the warmth that it gave, was beautiful. A well written drama. For me, I could understand Suzume so well and he was so relatable to me. He wasn't being annoying or unreasonable from my pov. Even the angst was so beautiful and the best part of the drama. And I loved how the drama focused on conversations about emotions, feelings, desire to be with someone but afraid of losing the comfort of being alone. To be prepared to welcome someone in your already comfortable alone life is not easy. Everything was done well and so tenderly imo. And I loved the ost. (The she's gone) 8.5/10
Loved ep 11. Suzume is such a relatable character. His fears and insecurities have build such a strong and tall wall that it won't be easy even for Suzume to break it for Keishi. What makes Suzume even harder is that he has no one to share or talk about the whole thing. Sometimes, we need help in seeing things we can't clearly see on our own. We're often too hard on ourselves about few things but when people show us the same things from their pov and from a different pov, we see the things differently too. Hoping that his friend will try to show him that in the last episode. People say that Suzume is being selfish. Yes, he is a bit. Because he's letting his own fears and insecurities take over him and hurt Keishi because of that. But won't he be selfish if he just keep aside his insecurities, ignore his insecurities and just get into relationship with Keishi? Sooner or later his insecurities will come in between their relationship and hurt Keishi even more because they will be already in relationship. So is he actually being Selfish? I'm really enjoying the drama. And for now, I have no complaints with the drama.
I feel like if you're looking for passion Japanese slice of life dramas are never the place you're going to find…
Lol true. Slice of life bls and even dramas with straight couples have such typical jdrama ish style slice of life (and I'm saying this in positive way). I think the mood of the drama was set right from the first episode. If you watch jdramas enough, you would know how it would go.
I can understand the comments I read complaining that this episode didn't show progress between main couple and…
Thank you for this comment! You said it all. This is such a beautiful drama. And the best part about the drama is the slow pace. It's so gently done. And I also like how the male leads often realise things and reflect while having conversations with someone else. Not all dramas should have two main leads' lives only around each other. I really thought this drama would be bad or whacky but the writer and the whole team really put all their efforts and it's visible on screen.
Also, if people actually watch and listen properly characters' conversations, they would understand the growth and progress of characters being told through their thoughts and the conversations. "Where's progress" omg, listen to the conversations. Their realisation, their acceptance, e everything is happening through conversations.
Tojo just need some time and a wake up call. I honestly am liking the way they're showing his fears. I know many are getting annoyed by now but not me. I love it. One's insecurities and fears for relations aren't something that just go away so easily specially when that person has been living alone for a long time. Some dramas choose to cut it short and some like to show it more realistically. I enjoy both as long as It's written and executed well. I judged the drama at first but it only grew and grew more on me with each episode. I love the gentle touch the drama has. Also, idk after how long a bl drama actually made me so sad in a break up scene😭 Anyways, Idc what anyone says, for me, this drama been really beautiful and well written so far.
Also a big theme in this drama is everyone is wishing for love but the way they go about to receive it might be…
Yeah but see, she was criticised and lost her job and she was ashamed of that. So, yes when dramas deal with characters accordingly, It feels nice or it just leaves me with a bitter taste somehow
I think it’s just cultural differences. From the very first scene he was shown to be a ridiculous man and almost…
Yet to watch ep 9. Maybe that scene will make me change my views. I do agree with some of your points. And definitely, not all dramas are about serving justice but since the drama highlighted these things, I feel it's better to treat those characters as such.
