I’ve watched a lot of long (50+ eps) dramas where the push n pulls, schemings, doormat woman, messy to ridiculous plots with gaping holes, etc. I’ve longed for a simple one where none of that crappy stuff happens or to a minimum at least. Here I am, it’s arrived to my doorstep. A drama where it’s family driven, resolving the kinks of life, and striving for happiness. There’s lot's of slice of life themes and more importantly, it’s a decent flow. For sure one of the best long dramas so far.
I don’t think it was meant to be funny but I had a good laugh at the ‘dance’ taping? Call me old or whatever but these guys looked silly as heck. Are they spreading awareness that dancing and singing can also be for the over the hill, non idol looking ppl? I’m fine with that but dang they looked silly (to me y’all) and it was funny in a good way. Then starting the song 🎶 white milky cigarettes 🚬 had me rolling more. 😆 Yes, I had fun with every aspect of this episode lol
Predictable where they’re going with the MIL storyline. It fits right in with the family theme of this drama. I imagine viewers of south korea especially are very pleased following along with this drama.
Adoption stories vary in real life. The depiction here is sweet. KS is not bitter bc he had a great family. Birth mom had her reasons. Everyone has a story.Seri shouldn’t be too bitter with her mom and listen to her story. I think writers and producers did this story line well. Except for Doko being an arse, I think this is progressing well and maybe resolved within next or two episodes.
This is by far a near perfect episode for me. Writing, cinematography, spread of screen time, meaningful topics. A gem if you haven’t started. Perfect time to do so.
I'm mainly watching it for GS/DS - actually for DS, who is adorable!
Right? I think this man’s depiction of character is the most realistic characterization of a man some might already have or pine for. Kind, great father/hubby, charming, protector, smart, etc. He’s so like my deceased hubby in everything besides looks which is the reason I love this (him esp) drama a lot. Oops am I being too personal? Oh well, he was all that and I’m forever grateful.
I’m sorry but Seri’s mom? What is she doing? She needs to let alone KS. Actress is beautiful but her constant crying face in our face is just not the business. I think her and Doko’s writing is a weak case. They are more like irritating brats in an adult world. 😃 For the horrid they did in their past, it’s treated like nothing. Shameful to even go near the brewery. To me, they do nothing for the show except to fill. The disconnection of plot line is too much.
I’m glad the deceased mom was nice bc her mom and her high standards is trash. I get MIL might be cautious weighing out GS but she should trust DS and his judgement knowing him as a good husband to her daughter.
I really didn't enjoy the character of Lu Zheng (Lu Jin's brother) turning from a simple, happy guy into a manipulative,…
You’re absolutely right. It’s an unnecessary plot line or they could have just kept it minimum but it was several episodes of annoyances. It destroyed the vibe and sweet flow. It’s too bad because the leads were great but when writing and directing goes off, unfortunately so does the casts.
His younger half brother mid drama comes into the picture, competing for business power and uses her to get to him. He schemes situations where it makes it seem they have a thing. ML though is very sophisticated and he resolves it whiplash. Tbh that plot line was so unnecessary and towards end that it ruined the flow.
But I worry about the tariffs affecting export. (I had to throw that out there. )
Lol right? I meant the splish splash fizz on mil. It was perfect.
Funny I saw a news article on this couple who will begin a makgeolli brewery here in WA and did think of how much tariff would effect their venture and then it’s effect on cost of product.
Warning: Rant aheadRecently I can't help but think that the production is failing miserably in managing the pace…
I’ve watched enough long dramas to know this is very decent with a good flow. Maybe it’s good I didn’t read the original story as this is unfolding nicely in my opinion as it comes.
I found this 42 very satisfying. Heung Soo finally likable. He’s on his way to be more responsible in his relationship and career. Yes I’m old and think that pop dance stuff isn’t suitable for a grown man like him but whatever. Beom n Seri are okay. It’s happened so I hope to see more cuteness in their relationship. KS mom and Ja Dong are so cute. Helper Kim was too funny and their watermelon break scene was comedic relief. GS children Bom and Gyeol are so matured and their acceptance of their dad’s new love is so sweet. Kang Soo is so sweet and his adoptive family is the perfect one for him. I love his sharing with his bro Beom and that hug from him was perfect. Chun So’s wife has finally become a decent human and am so glad that wrapped nicely. If i could have influenced the film director, i would have suggested for them to have a warm parting hug as closure. They were married for many years, it would have been appropriate and decent. Lovely Mi Sun is a fantastic woman so I’m happy they can be free to enjoy life together. Kuku Tak is a man baby and despite his tantrums, he’s okay, harmless but annoying. As drama goes, i don’t take the divorce seriously but we’ll see.
Overall, this long weekend drama is so well written with it’s meaningful flow I’m happy.
The thing about this drama adoption is that Kang Soo is doing well. He was raised and loved well by his adoptive family. The push and pull of Kuku and his wife, her not leaving him alone when he’s perfectly fine is tiresome. I know it’s all for drama purposes and extension but being spontaneous in all sorts of things in his life is not normal. Come out and identify yourself and your purposes. Tired of her tears and while it may of been touching before it’s overboard boring now. “You abandoned me and stole from my family”. How do answer to that even with the most pitiful shaking sorrowful voice. They are my ffwd addition. lol
Oh well, he was all that and I’m forever grateful.
