I kinda understand them... Am south african and I would be HELLA Pissed.. if anyone portrayed Nelson Mandela in any bad/shameful way.. we have heroes that fought for our freedom and deserve to be respected even after death. What Joseon Exorcist did by portraying korea's important historical figures as a lunatic who used demonic power to establish his kingdom was really insulting... And to make it worse, they put in chinese elements as well! They should have stuck to fake people... No one would have cared then.. that being said... I will forever be sad that it was cancelled.. I looked forward to that show for months!!!!

Just finished ep 2 and this show is giving me a headache with all the crazy conspiracy theories I have going around my head. great start though

I don't think that girls want everyone to be gay.. some shippers genuinely just find the couple cute, some know they have no chance in hell dating the actors they are attracted to and would rather see them together than with another girl (jealousy issues)! It's complicated. But I got out of the shipper mind when I graduated, am finding I have alot more responsibilities, am happier and therefore I don't need a fantasy couple to be my happiness, and really stopped caring about whose dating who...also I think all shippers are girls (with a few guys thrown in here and there) isnt this why BL is largely targeted at girls and written by girls..

it doesn't help that actors are encouraged to do fan service (something I've noted ZZH and GJ don't do) since PR teams know it attracts fans.. also it's not that suprising that fans of an on screen couple ship the actors off screen as well.... I really do not know why shipping a het couple is different from a gay couple, usually those that ship a gay couple are more intense and less willing to accept that the actors might just not be together in any sense...,as for me it was always guys I was attracted to, I would rather them be gay than date a girl that's not me... Lol Toxic I know, Real actor CP IS wrong but I don't see it ending anytime soon..

Yes! I agree, the actors are sold to the masses as a couple, interviewers should be banned from asking certain types of questions that feed shippers mind... Shippers have this narrative that no sane person would come out as gay in the industry (especially in asia) therefore even if they deny the couple rumors, they are doing it out of fear or obligation (to sustain their careers yada yada yada) and so search for any and I mean ANY clue that points to a relationship ... Now knowing that most of your fandom is made up of shippers, I don't understand why you would market your leading actors as the ideal couple...

Solo stans reported the site because they didn't like how XZ was portrayed in a fic there resulting in the site being banned, apparently they wanted to protect him from being viewed in a certain way (I didn't know). ...then all hell broke loose when cnetizens who use and love the site started to attack ZX and his stans. I don't know how CP stans where involved apart from minding their own business and writing fics... I didn't follow the whole story but found that that's the gist of it. Please correct me if am wrong

Wasn't it solo stans that fought each other?... I mean it was solo stans that started the whole ao3 controversy with XZ and solo stans again who keep fighting over whose "better" and hate that people ship them... And solo stans AGAIN who spread rumors that WYB did XZ dirty and somehow (I don't know how) used him for fame? . Soooo I don't think it should all be blamed on couple stans.....

Actually I have been wondering about this for a while and youku just answered my burning question... I love that international fans get a different cut .. at first I didn't understand why we had to watch the censored versions as well especially on a cite that is banned in china... Am so happy that they decided to do this. Yay youku! ^‿^

I've actually picked up my mandarin lessons again.. I dropped them after I realized passing the HSK level 1 test was not such a small feat as I thought it would be.. all thanks to WOH. wow.

After I read your comment, I was trying to find any differences btwn Gu xiang/Cao Weining and ZZH/WKX cause am not really looking for skinship either, but like I commented before, I'd like an acknoledgement of love btwn our MLs, as you would have in a het drama be it periodic or not. But after comparing the two couples I find that there really isn't that much of a difference.. I've only ever watched 1 other period drama (the untamed) and if that's how other dramas portray their couples then am fine with it too.

Mmh that makes sense, well am just happy I get to see the characters come to life in live action.. and I guess censored drama's are more engaging? everyone's just so eager to find any and all hidden easter eggs...every little and small meaningful interaction means so much...which in a weird way makes them more special than actual full fledged BLs..

Aaah okay, was just feeling a little frustrated... I watched avenuex's video on upcoming adaptations and with all these amazing 'bromance' dramas coming out, it kinda sucks that they will all be censored... I have no problem if they don't show any physical intimacies.. but I'd love an acknowledgement of feelings (not the subtle kind)..

Please, Can someone who understands censorship explain this to me....since youtube is banned in china why do they still upload the censored versions on the site ... I mean why is it that on international streaming sites we get the censored versions as well,, I thought they only banned the show in China if it didn't pass censorship but that doesn't extend to other countries viewing such content right?. just like international viewers are able to watch the last 3 episodes of Addicted but C netizens are not .... Is it still breaking the law if they release uncensored versions on youtube? So basically censorship extenders to what international viewers are allowed to see Conserning China?........ I don't know it might be a dumb question but I really want to know why...
