I hope they abolish the monarchy and vote Shin Jae supreme ruler of ice cream.
A little sad he hasn't eaten sweets since he found out about Lee Gon...

Not gonna lie, their PPL worked on me abit it always make me crave Korean fried chicken
I had some at a church get together, the breading was soft and it had practically nothing holding it to the chicken so taking a bite of a drumstick would rip off half the breading. I only think that's okay when the skin from the chicken is kinda filmy, but not too greasy. also I can normally keep fried chicken for 3-4 days in the fridge, after a day it hurt my stomach.
I guess I'm just salty.... unlike the chicken
XD

BBQ Olive Chicken though is basically the bottom of the barrel IMO. I would recommend either NeNe Chicken or a non-chain chicken place. Although before those I'd recommend almost any other type of food. Though I do understand why chimaek is popular.

I agree! He started out truly promising and scary as a villain but got more lame towards the end of the show.…
Looks like I'm gonna have to rewatch ep 15.... though that plot still amounts to nothing....

I'm on episode 8 and so far I'm enjoying this drama! I rarely see people praising it so I'm a bit confused hahaha
That's great! TBH I fall in the category that finds it bad, but I still get ironic enjoyment out of the bad bits and truly love some of the other stuff.
Also I grew up in a family of incredibly varying tastes, so I still understand why some people love this drama.

Let me add a few.- The food scene in EP 15, I thought LR always had LG fake mom try the food first to make sure…
I think the plan involving the mom was to catch LG off guard and use her to get to him... either way it was a huge waste of time.

I wasn't just going into incompetent moves, I was trying to illustrate that the moves he made intentionally, all led to nothing.
So yeah, I missed the gun, LG's fake mom, kidnapping TE, I skipped through the scene where he ate if I'm being honest, and there are def other plans I missed as well.

Also I'm still pissed that JY got left in ROK to protect TE and then she gets kidnapped and I still don't even know if he's aware of that fact.

I agree with his character being poorly written just to favor the ML. He had years to plan ahead and still end…
It's such a shame, because that first scene was a pretty strong opening for a villain and could have been set up to be failure due to over confidence, then as time went on we watch him learn from his mistakes... but he just kept being dumb.

I need to watch more of that actor's work though, he is good for the villain role!

You must be some kind of journalist or something, your posts are generally thoughtful, well researched, and sufficiently…
I can't make an argument for the show as a whole, but Shin-Jae's arc is one of the best written, well thought out character arc's I've seen in a long time. I was utterly shocked cause first ep I thought he was gonna be a tsundere second lead.

I have only one question. Why you need to convince me that the show is bad?
The original poster ended it saying critics shouldn't try to convince fans that the show is bad, AKA they don't need to.

My main thing is that one of my joy's in life is discussing media and helping people find content they enjoy. I mainly on comments blindly declaring this show to be better than other shows, dismissing critics as 'haters', telling newbies that it's a perfect masterpiece, or some variation of those things.
Any negative comment threads started by me are usually hidden under a spoiler tag, to be discussed with anyone who sees fit.

If someone shows up asking whether they should watch it, I lay out what I perceive as the pros and cons, and try to give them a fair idea of what's to come. My goal isn't to convince people it's bad (IMO it is), it's to get this drama to the right people. My mom will love it, my sis will probably only like bits, my dad might get ironic enjoyment out of it, two of my sibs have already had a skip through viewing curated by me so that they don't waste time on what they wouldn't enjoy, and I plan to help another sib skip through it when we're in the same place again.

Despite not being quiet about the things I enjoy as well I've been called a hater, an idiot, and deceitful. I've learned to stop engaging with these comments, but they can cause a lot of defensiveness from people in general.

What is it?
Interesting, but I'ma play devils advocate for this one >:)
One of the rules of is that things LR or LG touch are still affected by their movement.
Let's say the pen was ballpoint, if there was already ink touching the tip then he'd be able to write at least a little bit because him moving the pen while applying pressure would cause the tip to rotate, dragging along the ink it was touching.

TBH tho, they should'a just used a fancy mechanical pencil.

What I will miss about this drama...- Eun Sub- Yeong.- Woo Do Hwan.
I'll miss Shin Jae too, he has, hands down, the best character arc.

List of Lee Rim's plans thus far and what they've amounted to.
- Steal the manpashikjeok and overthrow his brother
-- Stood there like an idiot while 8 y/o Lee Gon cut it in half and then lost half of it.

- Replace tons of people in the palace with doppelgangers loyal to him
- - Replaced quite a few people without actually gaining any power and was found out because of a groom who held little to no power.

- Align himself with the political figure everyone hates and doesn't have any real power
- Aligned himself with the PM who has no power.

- Go back, warn past self about older LG ruining his attempt to kill YLG in order to succeed
-- Got killed by past self

- Threaten SJ's moms so shin jae will help him get the other half of the flute
- - waste of time

- Threaten Nari
- - Did Eun Sup even relay the message!?

I may be missing a few....

Since I keep thinking of the part of yo-yo boy and Jihun mother talking in the alley and still too dense to make…
Plot device, KES wanted a narrator so she added yo-yo boy. Current theory is he is the human incarnation of the manpashikjeok AKA this story's version of god.

(really hoping I'm wrong on that)

As soon as all the time-travelling started happening, the plot just completely stopped making sense. Also, I think…
Yeah, the only characters I care about are Eun-sup and shin jae. as much as I adore WDH, Jo yeong is very one note and has become a useless husk who's only job is to show up.

worst villain ever lol
Such a waste of a good actor. and his death scene had some of the cheesiest dialogue.

I just told a friend it's literally the best storyline of the show... who could have expected that?
I've been interested in Shin-Jae since either ep 2 or 3 and watched as all of the pieces fell in place. I'm a little embarrassed I didn't see him being from KOC until an ep or two before the reveal because it was already decently set up. I thought there was some bad event that happened to him and his family because of LR and that's why he'd seen the insignia, but I hadn't put that whole plot line together in advance.

YR basically become the main character of the movie "Looper", but the writer of that movie at least established…
The thing I hate is KES proved she could write legitimately interesting characters with well paced stories (Shin-Jae), but seems to be NOT doing that for the sake of 'entertainment' and the main characters.

He was busy enacting his plan to replace the palace groom.

I'm still upset he didn't just kill TE, he didn't need her and he didn't seem to care about the scars issue. Also why not just kidnap kid Eun Sup and train him to take Jo Yeong's place, it was obvious early on that the king was close to him.

There are so many other things. even the PM is a lackluster antagonist who hasn't achieved anything useful all show.
