Not sure if y'all are managing to keep up with korean twitter, but right now "Kim Jong Dae out" is trending. Honestly I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.
The way Tae-eul slowly (arguably) regresses from a supposedly empowered, skilled, and badass cop to Mary Jane…
Don't bring Spidey into this, he's innocent.
Also yeah, the discussion can be a lot of fun. I helped my sis watch only the scenes she'd like up to ep 10 and every now and then I tell her what's going on. My sis is a second dan black belt and I don't even know how to describe the face she made when I told her that happened.
Don't you just love it when a black belt in TaeKwonDo, who grew up in a TKD studio, went through intense training to become a cop, and has proven she can take on multiple targets at once, gets helplessly stabbed by a single street thug?
The premise is getting me hyped--could this be part of a new, darker and more imaginative sageuk wave inspired…
Korea has been trying to do darker sageuks right for a little while. The most disappointing being either night watchman's journal or mirror of the witch.
I find it really interesting, a lot of my foreign friends don't remember the OST after watching this one, whereas it's considered a classic here in korea. I heard 인연 (fate) long before moving here and then heard it everywhere from culture centers to cafes, also it's the go to song for quite a few of my friends at karaoke rooms, myself included. As for the instrumentals although I can't name them, whenever they come on I'm brought back to specific scenes in the movie. I've only seen this movie once.
She's an okay actress but she lacks consistency. she was decent in you're all surrounded and phantom detective, but thoroughly annoying in all the other projects I've seen her in, especially when she does her wail/sob, as opposed to her seemingly normal crying.
Was slightly interested for the writer and the fact that it takes place at incheon airport, but then I saw Kim Kyung Nam, and I'm dying to see him in something else other than TKEM. Thoroughly on my plan to watch list
I didn't realize Suzy was gonna be in that... I've been interested in it since nov because I heard Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Gum, and Jung Yoo Mi would be in it. After I watched psychokinesis I was looking for more things to watch with Jung yoo Mi, seeing as I wasn't familiar with her but loved her in that movie, and that popped up. I was sold the minute I saw Choi Woo Shik on the cast list as well...
oh well, it's less than 3 hours, I'll stomach it for the rest of the amazing cast.
Yeah, Na Ri makes little to no sense as a character. I'm more interested in her counter part... which isn't saying much.
Not gonna lie I actually liked the seen where we found out Deok Hwa was getting possessed, thought it was hilarious.
I saw her in Dream High, Big, Goo Family Book, My love from another star (cameo), 2 eps of uncontrollably fond and while you were sleeping. She has hardly improved if at all.
If you like Gong Yoo's performance in Big, you might also enjoy Two Cops with Jo Jung Suk.
When I first watched Goblin I hated his character so much that I didn't even notice the acting, that is quite the feat since normally I'm all about good acting. I can name nearly 100 Korean actors, and over 600 total. It wasn't till I saw him in Big that I realized he is fantastic, I ended up watching coffee prince just cause he's in it, despite not caring for slice of life gender benders.
I hold the seemingly unpopular opinion that Suzy sucks at acting. I love her music, and she can dance well, but I've started avoiding any project where she is the lead, or a secondary with a lot of screen time.
Yeah, omniscient characters for the sake of not wanting to figure out how to explain the rules drive me insane. Yo-yo boy kinda sucks....
I get that side characters should have lives that don't necessary pertain to the plot, but usually we're not supposed to see them unless they give you a better idea of who the character is...
I'll miss Shin Jae too, he has, hands down, the best character arc.
To be honest I've been wracking my brain for a better written character arc in other dramas as well, it may just be because I haven't watched most of the shows I love in a while, but I haven't found one that compares to everything she put into Shin Jae's character. It's a bit of a shame, she proved she can write fantastic characters through him, but neglected 99% of the other characters in this show.
is trending on twitter right now. If it's really because they are married with kids I'm gonna be pissed.

That's true, there were quite a few useless subplots, but to be honest I liked half of them more than the terrible age gap romance.
Ooooh sorry I missed 'this is', my bad.
TBH I'm confused by half your comment. I don't remember big having omniscient characters... in fact I remember them being quite dense.
