I understand why you used the spoiler, lol. Yes i agree some do it sparingly and inconspicuously but most of them use it frequently making it blatantly obvious in a obtruding way. For example, they're not going to convince me that instant coffee is way better than something like a freshly made cappuccino just because the FL told me so. I'm not talking about commercials, I'm talking about product placements within the drama, like when the FL will have instant coffee and she would praise it like it's the best coffee she's ever had and the camera would have real close up of the brand of coffee.

Yeah sometimes it's a set up for a surprise, but not all the time. That's why i was asking if they actually do this in reality. It just doesn't make sense to me to leave my date alone somewhere when we can stay together. I mean it doesn't matter if we're waiting in line at least we're together, we could be holding hands, talking, kissing or something like that. But remember I'm only talking about when you leave your date alone somewhere you can't see her, not if she's only like 10m away, that's fine.

It's like the actors are in character and then all of a sudden they're not, it simply lowers the value of the drama. Have you ever seen the movie The Truman Show with Jim Carey? In a few scenes the wife of Jim Carey is in character and then in the next moment she's advertising a product like coffee, tea or utensils. They did this deliberately not to sell the products but for the actual progression of the movie, it's one of the reasons the ML discovers he's on set of a tv show. But that's a perfect example of what it feels like watching Kdramas.

Yes, it literally doesn't make any sense unless it's for the progression of the drama, like the FL getting abducted. That's why i asked the question if this happens in reality, because why would you leave your date alone somewhere when she can just easily come with you to keep each other company holding hands or whatever? I think Asians believe it's romantic, but it's not. In my opinion it's not polite to leave your date alone.

It would be filled with misunderstandings, obtruding frequently obvious unwelcomed and intrusive product placements, awful fashion (especially for the FL), a charming but flawed female protagonist, an evil disapproving mother in law eager to mess up her son's relationships, car accidents, terminal illness or amnesia, piggyback rides, arm grabs, back hugs, body swapping, alcohol (lots and lots of alcohol), vomiting, hangover medicine, karaoke, ramen, a patriarchal and Hierarchical society and 30-40 year old virgin's still living at home with the parents.

Well then explain why compared to the rest of the world Kdramas advertisers products in such an obtruding and frequently obvious way that it looks like I'm watching a commercial? I understand the difference between NETFLIX and free to air as the latter uses commercials, but when comparing Kdramas to other dramas (ALL EXISTING ON NETFLIX) there's a vast contrast between them. Maybe other dramas uses such strategies but like I said they use it sparingly and inconspicuously that I don't even notice. Which brings me back to my original question, why do Kdramas impose their products in an unwelcome and intrusive manner?

I guess Kdramas aren't popular enough if they need to rely on sponsors to make a living. All the dramas i watch on NETFLIX without commercials that aren't from Korea don't use sponsors and if they do we don't notice it because they use it sparingly and inconspicuously, whereas Kdramas use it frequently making it blatantly obvious.

I prefer the honest opinions and feedback from fans in MDL that have experience in Kdramas rather than some random google search pages with no credibility. You do realise this doesn't only happen in the final episode of a drama but multiple times in every episode from beginning to end. I know many dramas around the world use sponsors but they use it sparingly and inconspicuously, whereas Kdramas use it frequently making it blatantly obvious.

I understand what your saying but that only applies to free to air tv where they have to use commercials. I watch shows from other countries with no commercials on NETFLIX and they don't use sponsors like we see in Kdramas. Which brings me back to my original question, why do Koreans do this?
