10/10... those last 2 episodes were crazy and although I would love a s2 and more closure after that finale..…
They actually could have done alot more with SeonWooks character, esp if he was going to be killed in the end. and this is why i wish it was longer than 8 eps bc there was so much more that could have been fleshed out if they had the time, Seonwook was done so dirty icl 😠justice for our seonwook!!
So... the poor boy Min Seon Wook died and was called the vigilante in the end? I hate that ending because this…
I can understand what you mean about SeonWook. In other words, he was done dirty and almost like his name was tarnished? But this was done to protect Kim Ji Yong. I liked the ending bc i found it powerful how Kim Ji Yong didnt take the oath. Its also shows that no matter how much you try to fight it, crime and corruption will always exist! I understand your point of view though , i think its very sad what happened to SeonWook, he deserved better.
final ep was fun but the lack of depth in all the characters is off-putting and i was unable to truly enjoy the…
Emotional depth would have really been great for this drama but it seems they focused more on the action side of things & had to fit everything into 8 eps. 12 eps would have been better in that sense
I also think there wasnt a great balance between screentime for characters. I feel like report choi got the most screentime out of the main cast? She seemed abit more human at the end lmao but yeah i get they had to cram everything into 8 eps and i think they did well in terms of having a tight schedule!
I've watched the final 2 eps and i am now gathering my through. I think episode 7&8 were done really well with it being the finale. It was action packed & intense. It really made you wonder what happens next. The ending scene especially was so powerful and im really happy with the ending, Kim Ji Yong refusing to take the oath bc the law system fails him time and time again. So from that, it seems like Ji Yong is a still a vigilante but this time as part of the police force. Webtoon pretty much had a similar ending but the ending was more vague in the webtoon as opposed to the drama where we can clearly see Ji Yongs anguish. Also, they have deffo left doors open for a season 2. Whether they follow through with it is a diff story, it depends on the success of s1 & the actors. (Would take around 3 years as NJH is in military if they do it)
Seonwook was done so dirty icl. I knew he was going to die (as it was spoiled for me) but man it's the fact he was killed protecting Ji Yong then took the wrap of being the 'vigilante' to the grave with him. However, Seonwooks death was a pivotal point for Ji Yong. He completely lost any respect or faith in the law system & his face in the ending says it all. I do wish we saw Ji Yong finding out SeonWook died but I understand they had to wrap it all up at a short time scale.
I have mentioned this before but for me, the main flaw with vigilante was that it lacked depth compared to the webtoon. But i understand its bc it was very short and fast paced. So they had to stick to the main points and they made it more of a fun watch.
I will also say this, Nam Joo-Hyuk, TAKE A BOW. He was EXCEPTIONAL in this drama and portrayed Kim Ji Yong so well, even with limited script. We saw so much emotion from his facial expression alone. I also like his chemistry with Sun Bae Yoo Ji Tae and would love to see them in a drama together again.
It was a good drama & I'm so glad Joo-Hyuk took on this role bc he is made for action/thriller dramas! I can't wait to see his projects post military.
Well done to the cast for their hard work!
I also wanted to add that the ending shows that crime and corruption will always exist no matter how much you try to fight it so im glad they portrayed that message as its realistic
I feel different about this series, acting is top notch, but there isn't enough buildup for any character or ML…
I do feel similar to you. I am loving the series but it is deffo missing that depth snd development. The plot/series had so much potential in that sense so sort of feels a lil wasted. For me, the scene that really had the most depth out of the entire series was ending og ep 5. I think 12 eps would have been great but looks like they wanted to keep it short and sweet!
I'm a bit confuse, maybe i missed it somewhere, but how did Cho Kang Ok know JiYong is the vigilante?
They didnt really delve into it but kang ok basically has access to technology bc of the company he works in and i think managed to access ji yongs phone.
